Tolkien drew inspiration from Finnish (with some elements also taken from Latin) to create his language Quenya, also known as High Elvish. So, a Finnish song is the closest thing you'll ever hear to a High Elven song... A few weeks ago, while experimenting with artificial intelligence, I generated a Finnish song titled "Revontulien alla" (Under the Northern Lights) on suno.com.

The song is based on Tolkien's stories about the Huorns, tree-like beings who inhabited the ancient Fangorn Forest and who, unlike the Ents, had become feral and could barely speak or move anymore. The song tells the story of a man taking a nighttime walk through a forest in Lapland, watching the Northern Lights and letting his dreams take flight, unaware that these ancient sentinels of the forest are watching him. Here you can listen to the Finnish version (the video has English subtitles):

The difficult part of generating these two songs came with the Spanish version, titled "Bajo la aurora boreal". The Finnish version was entirely generated by artificial intelligence, based on the ideas I proposed and my stylistic instructions (I wanted a Nordic folk song using the kantele, a stringed instrument traditional to Finland), but I wrote the Spanish version based on the Finnish lyrics, but it's not a translation, since I tried to adapt the meter to make it sound good, and that always involves changing some things (the video has English subtitles):

Anyway, I hope you like them. Lately, I've been generating songs with AI in different styles. You can listen to them on my suno.com profile. Both the songs I've included in this article and the ones you can see on my suno.com profile are free to download without asking permission or paying anything.
