Today marks three years since the last general elections, in which Pedro S\u00e1nchez's party, the PSOE, came in second.<\/p>\n
After that defeat, and taking advantage of the fact that the People's Party won without an absolute majority, S\u00e1nchez spared no expense to buy the support of the separatist and far-left parties<\/strong>, in order to guarantee his reelection. It was then that he offered the scandalous amnesty to his separatist partners<\/a> for the serious crimes committed during the 2017 coup attempt in Catalonia. S\u00e1nchez granted criminal privileges in exchange for the votes needed to remain in power<\/strong>, the biggest act of corruption in the entire history of democracy in Spain<\/a>.<\/p>\n Three years after those elections, S\u00e1nchez's government is besieged by corruption scandals<\/strong>. If it was difficult before to obtain the support of its separatist and far-left allies, now it's even worse. With a year to go before the next elections, fear has considerably increased within the socialist ranks of being abandoned by their government partners, the far-left Sumar<\/strong> (the umpteenth electoral brand of the Communist Party of Spain, PCE), to avoid being tainted by the PSOE's corruption in the lead-up to the next election. That explains a news story today.<\/strong><\/p>\n This morning, Pedro S\u00e1nchez announced the candidacy of Yolanda D\u00edaz for the leadership of the International Labour Organization (ILO)<\/a>, one of those United Nations agencies that consume a huge amount of public money<\/strong> and that serves to allow activists of all kinds to lead a comfortable life once their political careers in their countries of origin have run their course.
