Two weeks ago, the Spanish Air Force sent an Expeditionary Air Group to Australia<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\nThe complicated deployment of eleven Spanish military aircraft in northern Australia<\/a><\/rel><\/p>\n

This is one of the longest air deployments ever undertaken by Spain. This Expeditionary Air Group includes the participation of the two A330 MRTTs from the 45th Wing of the Spanish Air Force<\/strong> (the delivery of another aircraft is planned, at least for now). Last year we were able to see the inside of this multi-purpose tanker aircraft<\/a>, which is currently the largest military aircraft in Spain<\/strong>, measuring 59 meters long, with a wingspan of 60.3 meters and a height of 17.9 meters.<\/p>\n

The A330 MRT is also the longest-range and highest-capacity military aircraft operated by Spain.<\/strong> It has an endurance of over 18 hours of flight and a range of 16,000 kilometers. It can carry up to 111 tons of fuel, 300 soldiers, or 37 tons of cargo in its lower hold.
