The migratory invasion suffered by the Spanish city of Ceuta<\/a> is causing some curious movements in Spanish politics.<\/p>\n

The Imperial Stormtroopers are doing Pedro S\u00e1nchez and Morocco a favor<\/a><\/rel>
\nThe curious concept of patriotism promoted by anti-Semites and anti-Americans<\/a><\/rel><\/p>\n

On the one hand, we have a Spanish government (a coalition of socialists and communists) over which Morocco exerts enormous influence<\/a>, to the point that it has had the audacity to respond to that invasion by showing gratitude to Morocco<\/a>, the country from which that assault against Ceuta came. To cover up S\u00e1nchez's cowardice in the face of this Moroccan aggression, the left has been promoting a blatant distraction campaign for days in which the bad guys are the United States, Israel and Italy<\/strong>, but not the African country that sent tens of thousands of illegal immigrants to attack Ceuta.<\/p>\n

On the other hand, we have a far right (the real one) that shares some of its greatest prejudices with the left and the far left:<\/strong> anti-liberalism, hatred of the United States and Israel (that old anti-Semitism now disguised as \"anti-Zionism\"), and also the attempt to end the 1978 constitutional regime and the parliamentary monarchy. Both sides care much less about Spain than about their ideological agendas<\/strong>, which is why Russia and Iran have long been casting their nets in the waters of both extremes: because communists and fascists have no qualms about harming their own countries<\/strong> by contributing to instability that benefits the enemies of the West, if it means gaining some advantage that lifts them out of the marginalization in which they are normally mired.<\/p>\n

Because of this, the true far right is torn when it comes to Ceuta<\/strong>, like in the famous Alejandro Sanz song. On the one hand, they dislike S\u00e1nchez and his immigration policies, but at the same time, this far right has been unable to resist the temptation to join the left's distraction campaign<\/strong>, so these days we see many of its activists doing Pedro S\u00e1nchez a huge favor while simultaneously claiming to reject him.<\/p>\n

So, these days we have activists from the left, far left, and far right campaigning against the US, Israel<\/strong>, and the monarchy, with such astonishing harmony that sometimes it's hard to tell them apart. They even pat each other on the back<\/strong>, as the socialist minister \u00d3scar Puente did today<\/a> with one of those bright sparks who sees Israel's hand behind every bad thing that happens to Spain. A guy who in November was calling for support for Tucker Carlson<\/a> while that charlatan was actively promoting antisemitism<\/a>, was whitewashing Holocaust revisionists<\/a>, was spreading pro-Russian misinformation<\/a> and acted as a mouthpiece for the Iranian Islamist dictatorship<\/a>. This is the same guy who now spends his days attacking Vox for having the decency to support the only democracy in the Middle East.<\/p>\n

In the end, this whole situation is proving revealing about the consequences of the deluge of propaganda and conspiracy theories that some dictatorships have unleashed on the West<\/strong>, both to bolster their positions among allied countries and to weaken Western democracies. The result is that for many people, facts now matter less than the hatred fueled by ideological garbage for years<\/strong>. They don't care that Israel is the only democratic country in their region or that it lives under siege from Islamist terrorism. Hatred of Israel, as fanatical and irrational as old-fashioned antisemitism, ends up clouding reason so much that it prevails over any other consideration<\/strong>, making it easy for the victims of this propaganda to swallow any lie against the only Jewish state.<\/p>\n

I don't know what will happen in 2027, if the general elections in Spain aren't brought forward, but what I am sure of is that if S\u00e1nchez manages to stay in power, he should be grateful to that far right that hates Israel much more than it claims to love Spain<\/strong>, and which is currently helping the left to destroy our ties of friendship with a country that has more experience than any other in combating the threat of Islamist terrorism. Some will say that perhaps there are hidden interests behind all this<\/strong>, but I've long been convinced that there's a simpler explanation for how some people allow themselves to be manipulated: stupidity.<\/p>\n
