The Second World War began on September 1, 1939, with the German invasion of Poland.<\/p>\n
Today there is clear evidence that Nazi Germany and the USSR agreed to this invasion<\/strong>, including it in a secret protocol of the Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact<\/a<, signed by both dictatorships on August 23, 1939. Not only did this initial pact exist, but Germany and the USSR also remained in contact to develop the invasion<\/a>, which began on the Soviet side on September 17. Hitler and Stalin had previously agreed to divide Poland, and that is what they did.<\/strong> On September 22, Germans and Soviets met in the Polish town of Brze\u015b\u0107 Litewski (now Brest-Litovsk, in Belarus), and both armies even held a joint military parade to celebrate their victory over the Poles<\/a>.<\/p>\n These historical facts demonstrate that the USSR was as responsible as Nazi Germany for the outbreak of World War II<\/strong>. Stalin did not stop in Poland; the Red Army invaded Finland on November 30, 1939, and the Baltic states (Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia) and the Romanian regions of Bessarabia and northern Bukovina in 1940. All of this was previously agreed upon with Nazi Germany<\/strong>, and that is why the communist parties under Moscow's orders openly justified the invasion of Poland<\/a>, demonizing the British and French for supporting the Poles.<\/p>\n Historical reality has become very uncomfortable for Vladimir Putin's dictatorship<\/strong>, simply because it has spent years accepting Stalin's propaganda lies about the start of that war<\/a>. Today, the Kremlin has once again attempted to rewrite history. It did so through a message published by the Russian embassy in Germany<\/a>, which states: \"Statements equating National Socialism with Communism are unacceptable and blasphemous.<\/strong> Equally unacceptable are attempts to blame both Germany and the USSR for the outbreak of the war.\"<\/em><\/p>\n
