In the 20th century, the Jewish people were victims of one of the greatest genocides recorded in all of history: the Holocaust.<\/p>\n
That genocide involved the extermination of six million Jews. After World War II, great efforts were made in the West to prevent this monstrosity from being repeated<\/strong>, specifically pointing out that the rhetoric of classical antisemitism was what ultimately led to this enormous slaughter. Today, unfortunately, antisemitism is experiencing a resurgence<\/strong>, both in its classical form (hatred of Jews) and in so-called \"anti-Zionism,\" the concept used by communism to disguise its hatred of Jews<\/a>. A hatred that is now routinely directed against Israel, the only Jewish state in the world and the only true democracy in the Middle East.<\/p>\n The antisemitism that Jews are suffering daily in Spain<\/big><\/p>\n Last Wednesday, the Federation of Jewish Communities of Spain (FCJE) and the Movement Against Intolerance (MCI) released data on antisemitism in Spain in 2025<\/a>, truly worrying figures that show a 14.5% increase in antisemitic incidents compared to the previous year<\/strong>. These are not isolated cases. We are talking about a small community: there are approximately 70,000 Jews in Spain, according to the FCJE<\/a> (to give you an idea, there are already 2.5 million Muslims<\/a>), 221 anti-Semitic incidents were recorded in 2025<\/strong>. Regarding the data published on Wednesday, the FCJE points out the following:<\/p>\n David Obad\u00eda, president of the FCJE (Federation of Jewish Communities of Spain), has warned of the consequences this situation has on the daily lives of Spanish Jews: \u201cSince October 7, 2023, Spanish Jews have had to attend their places of worship with special security measures.<\/strong> Our children are the only ones who go to school with a police presence, and insults and discrimination are part of our reality almost daily.\u201d<\/p>\n Obad\u00eda stressed that it cannot be considered normal for a community to have to permanently reinforce its security measures in order to carry out its religious, educational, and community life. \u201cWhen a Jewish family has to wonder if it is safe to take their children to school or attend a synagogue, we are facing a problem that affects the whole of Spanish society,\u201d<\/strong> he pointed out. In this context, Obad\u00eda acknowledged that the far-left's stance contributes to worsening this situation<\/strong>.<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n The role of Pedro S\u00e1nchez's government in the rise of antisemitism<\/big><\/p>\n Some are already trying to downplay the importance of this problem, but lately these antisemitic incidents have included things like an attack involving the smashing of gravestones in a Jewish cemetery in Barcelona<\/a> (on January 24), the publication of blacklists of Jewish shops, businesses, and even schools in Catalonia<\/a> (a fact that made headlines in the first days of the year and that reappeared in April<\/a>) and even public calls to destroy the State of Israel<\/a>, a type of message that is not read in Spain against any other country.<\/p>\n Significantly, Pedro S\u00e1nchez has not condemned any of these antisemitic acts.<\/strong> It is not difficult to imagine why, since his is the most antisemitic government in the European Union. As an example, S\u00e1nchez has falsely accused Israel of \"genocide\"<\/a> (an accusation that the Spanish socialist leader has never made against Putin's Russia for its massacres of civilians in Ukraine), ordered an arms embargo against Israel<\/a> (while buying weapons from Turkey, a country that has maintained an illegal military occupation of northern Cyprus since 1974), and he even lamented not having \"nuclear bombs\" to use against the Jewish state<\/a>, a scandalous statement for which more than 850 anti-Semitism groups accused him of \"incitement to genocide.\"<\/a><\/p>\n Antisemitism from the far-left and Islamic extremism<\/big><\/p>\n Spanish socialism plays a leading role in promoting antisemitism in Spain<\/strong>, but it would be unfair to single it out as solely responsible for the rise of this scourge. The far left and Islamic extremism also play a significant role in the rise of hatred toward Jews.<\/strong> In fact, in the realm of activism, it is in these two sectors that we can observe the most obsessive antisemitic campaigns.<\/p>\n In Spain, far-left antisemitism is combined with public displays of support for anti-Jewish terrorist organizations<\/a>. One of these criminal organizations, the PFLP, even called for a march in Madrid, scandalously authorized by the S\u00e1nchez government<\/a>. To make matters worse, a minister in his government, the communist Sira Rego<\/strong> (a member of the Communist Party of Spain and of the governing faction of the far-left coalition Sumar) even attended and participated in that march<\/a>. Never before in the European Union had anything like this happened: a member of government attending a march organized by a terrorist and anti-Semitic group<\/strong>.<\/p>\n The antisemitism of the far right and pro-Russian propaganda networks<\/big><\/p>\n Of course, there is also clear antisemitism on the far right<\/strong>, whose various currents share hatred of Jews as one of their common denominators, occasionally disguising this hatred with references to \"Zionism\" or \"Anglo-Zionism\".<\/strong> Today, the ideological distance between far-left and far-right antisemitism has practically disappeared.<\/p>\n Every time these groups attack \"Zionism\", they are actually referring to Jews in general<\/strong>, and they make less and less effort to conceal it. It must be said that among pro-Russian propaganda networks in Spain, antisemitism reaches pathological levels<\/strong>, openly including Holocaust denial, if not outright justification of that genocide.<\/strong> It is not a mere coincidence that in those same sectors there has been an increase in expressions of sympathy towards the Islamist dictatorship of Iran<\/strong>, which is one of the major promoters of anti-Semitism on an international scale. <\/p>\n An anti-Christian attitude that is a disgrace to Spain<\/big><\/p>\n I am not Jewish. I am a Catholic Christian<\/strong>, and I never cease to remember that Pope Saint John Paul II referred to the Jewish people as our \"elder brothers\"<\/a>. I will never stop repeating, especially when I see people who call themselves Christian and promote this hateful rhetoric, that you cannot be a good Christian and at the same time be antisemitic<\/strong>. The Catholic Church clearly condemns antisemitism<\/a>, so promoting it is not a Christian attitude, but purely diabolical.<\/p>\n Furthermore, as a Spanish citizen, I feel ashamed to see this happening in my country, and especially given that it is our own government that is promoting antisemitism<\/strong>, both to cover up its corruption scandals<\/a> and to combat the growing discontent generated by its terrible management and its betrayal of Spain in favor of Morocco<\/a>.<\/p>\n ---<\/p>\n
