Spain is the only country in the European Union that has communists in its government\u2014that is, members of a totalitarian movement.<\/p>\n
Rego refused to condemn Hamas's terrorist attack on Israel; S\u00e1nchez rewarded her by appointing her a minister<\/big><\/p>\n Despite having had negligible representation in the Congress of Deputies for decades, the Communist Party of Spain (PCE) currently has two ministers in Pedro S\u00e1nchez's government: Yolanda D\u00edaz and Sira Rego.<\/strong> They hold these positions thanks to the Spanish Socialist Workers' Party (PSOE)'s pacts with the far left, a situation that leads to embarrassing scenes like the one witnessed yesterday: during a speech at the New Economy Forum, Rego proclaimed the slogan \"For a free Palestine from the river to the sea.\"<\/em><\/a> This slogan has long been used by those calling for the disappearance of the State of Israel<\/strong>\u2014the only true democracy in the Middle East.<\/p>\n That slogan has been used by terrorist groups such as Hamas and the PFLP to call for the destruction of Israel.<\/a> It is an abhorrent slogan, and seeing an EU government minister exclaim it is repulsive. With her infamous words, Rego has made it clear that she does not seek peace in the Middle East: what she seeks is a new Holocaust.<\/strong> Of course, she is not the only one harboring this despicable aim: Iran's terrorist regime and neo-Nazi groups want exactly the same thing<\/strong>. Now, they have someone to represent them in the Spanish government.<\/p>\n Spanish Jews condemn Rego's antisemitic statement<\/big><\/p>\n Yesterday, the Federation of Jewish Communities of Spain condemned Rego's words<\/a>: \"It is extremely serious for a far-left minister to present slogans as an expression of Spanish society that directly incite rejection of the Jewish community<\/strong> and call for the disappearance of a country, as well as the denial of the Jewish people's right to self-determination. Spain has been a member of the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA)<\/strong> since 2008 and, in 2020, adopted its working definition of antisemitism, which recognizes that such statements constitute antisemitism. We believe that Minister Rego does not speak on behalf of the Spanish people and that Spanish society is not antisemitic. However, this minister's statements are<\/strong>.\"<\/em><\/p>\n Meanwhile, the Jewish group ACOM has accused Rego of uttering a \"genocidal slogan\"<\/a> and added: \"The minister has used a diplomatic platform to champion a map in which the Jewish State disappears. That is the map Hamas demands<\/strong>.\"<\/em><\/p>\n Likewise, the Jewish Community of Barcelona has accused Rego of delivering \"a message of pure hatred\"<\/a>, adding: \"History does not forgive. And it is evident that they know how to handle neither our own problems nor those of others thousands of kilometers away.\"<\/em><\/p>\n Rego refused to condemn Hamas's terrorist attack on Israel; S\u00e1nchez rewarded her by appointing her minister.<\/big><\/p>\n This is not the first time that communist minister has made such an outrageous statement. Sira Rego used that slogan two years ago<\/a>\u2014in May 2022\u2014just as she has proclaimed it now, fully aware of its meaning. On October 7, 2023, when Hamas perpetrated the largest antisemitic massacre since the Holocaust<\/strong>, Rego justified that terrorist attack against Israel<\/a>, framing it as a \"right to resist,\" even though Gaza had already been under Hamas control for 17 years and Israel had even withdrawn all its Jewish inhabitants from the area. A few days after the attack, the European Parliament condemned it in a resolution supported by 500 MEPs.<\/strong> Only 21 MEPs voted against it, including Rego<\/a> and Ernest Urtasun, who is also a minister today.<\/p>\n Let us consider for a moment what this means: Rego voted against the European condemnation of a terrorist attack in which adults, young people, children, and babies were murdered in an atrocious manner<\/strong>, simply for being Jewish. A few weeks after that massacre and that communist MEP\u2019s infamous vote against that resolution, S\u00e1nchez rewarded Rego by appointing her Minister of Children and Youth<\/a>. In the nearly three years she has served as minister, Rego has not once condemned the murders of Jewish children and young people by Hamas<\/strong>\u2014a sickening stance, yet entirely consistent with a far-left cabinet that is today the most antisemitic government in Europe.<\/p>\n She attended a march by an antisemitic criminal group on the day Holocaust victims were being commemorated<\/big><\/p>\n The extremes to which that government has gone deserve to be remembered so that the depths to which the Spanish Left can sink are never forgotten: in January 2024, S\u00e1nchez's government authorized a march in Madrid organized by the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP)<\/a>, an antisemitic criminal organization that appears on the EU list of terrorist groups<\/a>. That decision sparked a scandal both within and outside Spain, but it did not stop there: Sira Rego attended that march and stood at the front holding one of the banners<\/a>\u2014and she did so on January 27, the very day commemorating the victims of the Holocaust<\/strong>. Let us recall that Rego's party, the PCE, claimed to be twinned with that terrorist group<\/a>, which openly supported the antisemitic massacre perpetrated by Hamas in 2023.<\/p>\n It is a disgrace that Spain has a zealot like that in its government<\/strong>, something unthinkable in other European countries, and something that reveals the sheer vileness of the Spanish Left. Obviously, if someone like that is a minister, it is because S\u00e1nchez feels comfortable with such despicable people as Sira Rego, for deep down, they are just like him.<\/strong><\/p>\n ---<\/p>\n
