{"id":67474,"date":"2026-09-25T22:43:59","date_gmt":"2026-09-25T20:43:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.outono.net\/elentir\/?p=67474"},"modified":"2026-09-25T22:43:59","modified_gmt":"2026-09-25T20:43:59","slug":"heart-of-the-beast-a-commentary-on-this-survival-film","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.outono.net\/elentir\/2026\/09\/25\/heart-of-the-beast-a-commentary-on-this-survival-film\/","title":{"rendered":"'Heart of the Beast', a commentary on this survival film"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This Friday sees the arrival of a very interesting new release in the adventure genre\u2014specifically, the survival subgenre.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p><rel><a href=\"https:\/\/www.outono.net\/elentir\/2026\/09\/19\/pressure-a-film-about-the-meteorologists-of-the-normandy-landings\/\">'Pressure', a film about the meteorologists of the Normandy Landings<\/a><\/rel><br \/>\n<rel><a href=\"https:\/\/www.outono.net\/elentir\/2026\/09\/05\/a-review-of-the-dog-stars-directed-by-the-now-elderly-ridley-scott\/\">A review of 'The Dog Stars', directed by the now elderly Ridley Scott<\/a><\/rel><\/p>\n<p><strong>\"Heart of the Beast\"<\/strong> (released in Spain as \"En el coraz\u00f3n de la bestia\" and in Hispanic America as \"El coraz\u00f3n de la bestia\") <strong>is a film starring Brad Pitt<\/strong> as James Belmont, a retired Sergeant Major from the U.S. Army Special Forces\u2014the famous \"Green Berets.\" <strong>In this feature film, the famous American actor shares the spotlight with Odin<\/strong>, a combat dog suffering the lingering effects of severe war injuries.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/55551151750_3cb0a4c336_o.jpg\" target=\"_blank\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/55551151750_edbcbe621a_z.jpg\" style=\"width:100%; height:auto; border:0px;\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>The film is set in the state of Alaska<\/strong>, undoubtedly one of the wildest and most fascinating territories in the United States. <strong>Director David Ayer<\/strong> (who also helmed 2014\u2019s *Fury*, starring Brad Pitt) <strong>expertly captures the state\u2019s breathtaking landscapes<\/strong> as well as the harsh reality of survival in areas far removed from civilization\u2014places where nature reveals both its stunning beauty and its fierce power. <strong>Jared Michael Fry composed the score<\/strong>, which provides a varied and effective accompaniment to the action.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/55549742762_4e19771ab2_o.jpg\" target=\"_blank\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/55549742762_1e3dfd1118_z.jpg\" style=\"width:100%; height:auto; border:0px;\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Brad Pitt and Odin made an excellent starring duo<\/strong>, although, to be fair, the role of the combat dog was actually played by four different dogs: Uber, Seeka, Ryker, and Hondo. <strong>I absolutely loved the movie.<\/strong> I think it will especially appeal to my friends at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/aventurasentresierras\" target=\"_blank\">Aventuras Entresierras<\/a> and, in general, to all mountain lovers and survival enthusiasts. <strong>I highly recommend it.<\/strong> You can watch the trailer here:<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Heart of the Beast | Official Trailer 2 (2026 Movie) - Brad Pitt, J.K.
