There must always be one fewer chair than the total number of people.<\/strong> The game begins when the music starts playing, at which point the players must walk around the chairs. As soon as the music stops, everyone must scramble to find a chair and sit down.<\/strong> Naturally, one person is always left without a seat. The game continues with the removal of one chair at a time until only two players remain. The last person to secure a seat wins.<\/strong><\/p>\n In many ways, this game mirrors the political survival process that plays out every four years in democratic nations. When a political party is struggling, the game of musical chairs that unfolds within its ranks can be truly ruthless.<\/strong> After all, this is no longer a matter of simply winning a traditional game. What the players are really after is maintaining the high standard of living that comes with a seat as a deputy or senator.<\/strong> This game can turn particularly dirty when the players are politicians who have shown a complete lack of moral scruples.<\/p>\n A Left-Wing Facing Historic Collapse<\/big><\/p>\n The Spanish left is currently at a very low ebb.<\/strong> A succession of corruption scandals and displays of incompetence and authoritarianism by Pedro S\u00e1nchez\u2019s government, a coalition of Socialists (PSOE) and Communists (Sumar)<\/strong>, has resulted in electoral forecasts pointing to a likely historic collapse for the left in the upcoming general election<\/strong>. This electoral disaster could be compounded by the serious national crisis triggered by the Moroccan-orchestrated migrant influx into Ceuta and the S\u00e1nchez government\u2019s subservience to Morocco<\/strong>, all while alarming revelations come to light\u2014such as contacts between the PSOE\u2019s shadowy operatives and drug traffickers aimed at attacking the judge presiding over the case involving S\u00e1nchez\u2019s brother<\/a>, a tactic typical of the mafia.<\/p>\n Allowing themselves to be dragged along by the PSOE could have devastating electoral consequences for the far-left.<\/strong> Recent polls predict not only a historic slump for the PSOE but also the risk that communist electoral brands (Sumar and Podemos) will be relegated to the fringes<\/strong>, after spending eight years holding ministerial posts, riding in official cars, and enjoying a life of luxury. The far-left now faces the challenge of either breaking its coalition government with the Socialists or, at the very least, feigning tension with them<\/strong> in order to gain some advantage ahead of the next election, which must be called by 2027.<\/p>\n Seeking political office using evictions as a pretext<\/big><\/p>\n This week, the far left has once again staged protests using evictions as a pretext.<\/strong> It seems somewhat ridiculous to do so after eight years of left-wing governments\u2014and socialist policies that have driven up the cost of renting and buying homes<\/strong>. This situation stems from a heavily regulated real estate market burdened by measures introduced by the left that encourage rent delinquency and the illegal occupation of housing<\/strong>\u2014scourges that have ultimately harmed many small property owners, including some who traditionally vote for the left. Under S\u00e1nchez\u2019s leadership, the left has eroded the Spanish middle class<\/strong>, creating a social and economic environment defined by a lack of opportunities, low wages, expensive housing, and skyrocketing grocery prices. This is the result of eight years of implementing the left\u2019s absurd economic prescriptions<\/strong>, which\u2014under the guise of wealth redistribution\u2014ultimately succeed only in spreading poverty.<\/p>\n Trying to make us forget that we are in this state because of them<\/big><\/p>\n Basically, what the Left wants is for us to forget that Spain is in such a bad state because of its policies<\/strong>, so that it can have another chance to keep implementing them and continue the process of impoverishing our country\u2014a deliberate process: the Left loses electoral opportunities in prosperous societies and needs desperate people<\/strong> who will be more receptive to the snake-oil salesmen in the socialist and communist ranks.<\/p>\n Ultimately, we are on the verge of a political battle that will leave many elected socialist and communist officials in the unemployment lines<\/strong> (albeit with the lucrative severance packages and pensions they have secured for themselves). We will see them more nervous and irate than ever, and that will be the reason why<\/strong>\u2014not because of some elderly woman facing eviction. In fact, the Spanish region with the highest number of evictions (by a wide margin) is Catalonia, governed by the socialists<\/a>, yet there have been no protests there.
