Following the recent far-left violence in A Coru\u00f1a<\/a>, today there were protests denouncing those who put a stop to it.<\/p>\n

The BNG does not condemn violence against Vox and even uses it for electoral purposes<\/a><\/rel>
\nFar-left violence in La Coru\u00f1a aimed at preventing Vox from expressing itself freely<\/a><\/rel><\/p>\n

The far-left separatist coalition Galician Nationalist Bloc (BNG)<\/strong> and its youth wing, Galiza Nova (which took part in the harassment of Vox in A Coru\u00f1a)<\/a>, have called for protests in several Galician cities against \"police repression.\"<\/strong> In other words, they are protesting against the National Police\u2014who were simply carrying out their duty\u2014for responding to extremists who resorted to violence in A Coru\u00f1a. These extremists first sought to prevent a public event by Vox<\/a>\u2014the fourth most-voted party in Galicia\u2014and later proceeded to set fire to trash containers<\/a> across the city that night. Essentially, the BNG wants the police to give the violent far-left a free hand.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The BNG rally in Vigo produced some curious imagery: alongside the BNG banner, a communist flag with a very specific design was displayed.<\/strong> That flag can be seen in the following photo, posted by BNG Vigo<\/a> (you can view an enlarged version by clicking on the image):<\/p>\n

That totalitarian flag<\/strong> can also be seen in a video<\/a> published by Galiza Nova de Vigo:<\/p>\n

This communist flag has a very specific design and set of proportions.<\/strong> It is the official flag of the Soviet Union<\/a>, featuring a hammer and sickle and a red star with a yellow border. The USSR was a dictatorship that, for seven decades, employed the most brutal repressive methods<\/strong>, murdering millions of people for political reasons<\/a>. To persecute, imprison, torture, and kill individuals based on their political views or religious beliefs, this Soviet dictatorship established a bloodthirsty political police force, the Cheka<\/strong>\u2014which served as an inspiration for the Gestapo<\/a>, the brutal political police of Hitler\u2019s dictatorship. <\/p>\n

The NKVD\u2014successor to the Cheka\u2014even coordinated with the Gestapo<\/a> in 1939 and 1940, after both dictatorships invaded Poland as part of an alliance between nazis and communists, driven by their shared hatred of democracy.<\/a> It is surreal to protest against alleged \"police repression\" and \"fascism\" while carrying the flag of a dictatorship that allied itself with the nazis, a regime whose own police repression reached levels of brutality comparable to those of the Third Reich. This is as incoherent and absurd as demonstrating against racism while flying a nazi flag.<\/strong><\/p>\n
