This is a firefly seen with infrared

In this video you can see in some detail something more and more rare to see, even in a region like Galicia, because of the insecticides and the abundance of artificial light: a firefly.

Specifically, it is a female of the species Lampyris noctiluca. The video was recorded in Nigrán (Galicia, Spain), next to Patos Beach, using natural light and also infrared vision of the camcorder. These fireflies usually have a size between 1.5 and 3 centimeters. Its chemical light, greenish, serves to attract its partner.
