This week sees the Avalon Australian International Airshow in Greater Geelong, in southeastern Australia.

One of the most anticipated displays at this air show is the F-35 stealth fighter. The Royal Australian Air Force is now a major operator of this aircraft, with 72 F-35As, the most agile version of this fighter, capable of withstanding maneuvers of up to 9.0 G (to give an idea, the F-35B can withstand up to 7.0 G and the F-35C up to 7.5 G).

Australia has been operating the F-35A for eight years now, having displayed its first aircraft of this type on March 3, 2017, at this same air show. This time has already allowed Australian F-35 pilots to gain some experience with this aircraft. We can see it in this video published yesterday by the YouTube channel Tonk298, in which we see an Australian F-35A performing different maneuvers and even opening its weapons bays:
