The party, the Govt and RTVE spread false news that has already been denied

The PSOE's clumsiness: it confirms its dirty campaign against the Civil Guard with a hoax

In movies, there are usually two types of villains: those who are very skillful and those who, in addition to being evil, are very clumsy.

How many Leires are there in the PSOE and why have some media kept quiet until now?
Will Sánchez resign? What Spain can expect from a politician with the 'dark triad'

A PSOE 'plumber' who plotted a campaign against the Civil Guard

Spanish socialism seems to be in the second group. Just look at the facts. A few days ago, several media outlets released recordings of a "plumber" from the Socialist Party (PSOE) plotting a campaign against the Civil Guard to discredit it and shut down its investigations into socialist corruption. These recordings have caused a political earthquake in Spain. The PSOE has tried to address this scandal by claiming that this "plumber", Leire Díez, did not hold any organic position in the party, but the reality is that she obtained important positions in Correos thanks to her socialist militancy.

A socialist media outlet spreads a hoax against the Civil Guard

After what has come to light, the PSOE should avoid any attack on the Civil Guard so as not to confirm the revelations of those media outlets, based on recordings that clearly prove this dirty campaign against the Central Operative Unit (UCO), the judicial police section of the GC. Instead, the government and the PSOE have today spread a hoax published by a socialist media outlet, El Plural (which was already convicted years ago for publishing false news), accusing a former UCO civil guard of threatening to plant a limpet bomb on Pedro Sánchez. In fact, that former civil guard expressed his fear that the government would plant a limpet bomb on him.

The PSOE, the government and RTVE spread this hoax

After having described the media outlets that investigate socialist corruption as "pseudo-media" and after accusing them of publishing hoaxes, the government has put RTVE - paid for by all taxpayers - to spread that hoax from El Plural, a hoax that at this time has not yet been rectified by RTVE. Another pro-government outlet, La Sexta, has already published a correction after spreading this hoax: "We correct information given in error in laSexta, attributing to the agent, in his exchange of messages with an informant, the possibility of an attack against Pedro Sánchez, President of the Government."

Despite the fact that the falsity of this information was confirmed hours ago, the PSOE continues to spread the hoax through its Twitter channel, with messages from ministers Pilar Alegría, María Jesús Montero and Óscar López. This afternoon, another minister, Ángel Víctor Torres, also spread this hoax, with a video of statements he made on RTVE attacking the UCO with this lie. It is the same government that described the truthful information about socialist corruption published by various media outlets as "mud" and "hoaxes."

The Socialists confirm their dirty campaign against the Civil Guard with this hoax

In this case, we are facing a clear mix of vileness and clumsiness, since with these false accusations based on a since-denied hoax, the PSOE and the government are confirming their dirty campaign against the Civil Guard's UCO, which Leire Díez spoke about in the recordings published this week. This hoax demonstrates that Díez's work as the PSOE's "plumber" fully coincides with the party and government's strategy to undermine the prestige of the Civil Guard in order to quash its investigations into socialist corruption.

With this, moreover, the PSOE and the government demonstrate they have no scruples and are capable of anything to achieve their most perverse objectives. In the end, we are seeing a new example of a hoax that turns against those who spread it, demonstrating that in addition to being bad people, they are tremendously clumsy.
