Leftist media rectify and leave the PSOE alone with the limpet bomb hoax

The PSOE made a blunder yesterday by confirming its dirty campaign against the Civil Guard with the dissemination of a scandalous hoax.

The PSOE's clumsiness: it confirms its dirty campaign against the Civil Guard with a hoax
How many Leires are there in the PSOE and why have some media kept quiet until now?

A hoax originating from a media outlet already convicted of publishing false news

This hoax accused a former Civil Guard member of the Central Operative Unit (UCO, a judicial police unit that investigates cases of political corruption) of threatening to plant a limpet mine on Pedro Sánchez, when in reality the former Civil Guard member feared that one would be planted on him. The hoax involved manipulating messages published by the socialist digital newspaper El Plural, which was already convicted years ago in criminal courts for publishing false news against Francisco José Alcaraz.

This hoax confirms the PSOE's dirty war against the UCO

The publication of this hoax and its dissemination by the PSOE demonstrates the dirty war of the socialists against the UCO of the Civil Guard to bring to light their corruption scandals, precisely when the PSOE should be making an effort to disassociate itself from this campaign after the discovery of the tricks of a "plumber" of that party, Leire Díez. These tricks demonstrate the lack of scruples of the socialist leadership in their attempt to cover up their cases of corruption.

RTVE, La Sexta, El Diario and Público have already published rectifications

The hoax was so obvious and easy to debunk that some left-wing media outlets have had no choice but to back down. In recent hours, several left-wing media outlets have backtracked and retracted their published statements, although in some cases with much less visibility than they gave the hoax. RTVE, La Sexta, Eldiario.es and Público have published rectifications referring to that hoax in the last few hours, perhaps out of fear of receiving a complaint from the former civil guard slandered by the hoax. The socialist newspaper El País did not even publish the hoax, but it has not wanted to record that the PSOE and the government have been spreading false news even hours after it was rectified by several media outlets.

El Plural is now trying to distance itself from the hoax

The exception is the socialist pamphlet El Plural, which has refused to rectify its hoax. Yesterday, that socialist newspaper published a letter from its editor saying that he is not "backing down", but in which he states: "other media outlets echoed it - without citing us - focusing on a secondary conversation centered on a "sticky bomb" that this newspaper dismissed from the outset because it distracted attention from what was truly important" A very cynical statement considering that reference to the bomb limpet is the core of that hoax.

The hoax by the current director of El Plural against Counting Stars in 2024

Coincidentally, one of the authors of that El Plural news story about the limpet mine is José María Garrido, current director of that digital pamphlet, who was also one of the authors of the fake news story against Alcaraz, published in 2008, for which El Plural would end up being convicted by the Supreme Court four years later. As you may recall, in July 2024 Garrido launched a hoax against Counting Stars claiming, without evidence, that this blog was paid for by Putin, despite the fact that at that time this website had already been denouncing the crimes of the Russian dictator for 16 years. An example of the curious concept of journalism that they have in this socialist digital pamphlet.

The PSOE stands alone in its dissemination of this infamous hoax

Of course, it's significant to see how even media outlets very close to Sánchez's government have left the PSOE alone with this hoax, with the sole support of a socialist digital pamphlet already convicted of publishing fake news. This gives an idea of the extent to which Sánchez and his party are making a desperate headlong rush, gaining less and less support, even among those who have had no qualms about supporting and whitewashing the government in its serious attacks on the rule of law.

Let's also remember that the PSOE is in government despite losing the last general election and thanks to the support of communists and separatists, support that Sánchez makes all Spaniards pay for with our taxes. It's about time Spaniards could go to the polls to kick this mafia out of power. Spain doesn't deserve to be governed one more day by a government that lies so shamelessly to cover up its corruption.
