Russia kills pregnant woman and her baby in attack on maternity hospital

This morning, the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, posted a message on his Telegram channel denouncing the latest Russian attacks against civilians in Ukraine:

"So far, it is known that in the last 24 hours, when everyone once again had hope for an end to the killings, the Russian military killed 22 people in Ukraine. My condolences to their families and friends. Another 85 people were injured. 73 Ukrainian cities and towns were targeted by Russian attacks.

At 2:00 a.m. that same day, the Russians launched a missile attack on the town of Kamianske, on the territory of the municipal hospital. Three people died as a result of this attack, including a pregnant woman. Her name was Diana, and she was only 23 years old.

Suspilne Media has reported that the Russian attack on Kamiankse in the Dnipro region "blew out all the windows of two municipal hospital buildings, including a maternity ward, and damaged the premises of medical institutions. The main gate was also destroyed. Cars and educational institutions were damaged, and windows of residents' homes were broken. Three people were killed and five more were injured". This media outlet added:

"According to Inna, the head of the maternity ward, the staff suffered minor injuries. At the time of the attack, nine women in labor with their babies were in her ward. The deceased pregnant woman was in another ward, as was the injured pregnant woman, who is in serious condition, according to the doctor. Inna was also injured in the explosion."

Gerashchenko posted this photo of the slain pregnant mother, commenting: "This is Diana, 23. She was six months pregnant. Today, Russia killed Diana and her unborn baby by a ballistic missile strike on Kamianske."

The State Emergency Service of Ukraine has published the following photos of the Russian attack on Kamianske, which are yet another example of Russia's terrorist strategy. In response to Ukrainian attacks on military targets, the Kremlin has been carrying out systematic attacks on residential buildings, hospitals, churches, and schools, deliberately seeking to murder unarmed civilians. These war crimes, unfortunately, are not receiving the response they should in the West, where many media outlets seem to have lost interest in reporting on what Russia continues to do in Ukraine.
