The correct use of national symbols is a duty of all Spaniards, but especially of the Spanish government.
Today, artificial intelligence (AI) is being used for more and more things, including generating all kinds of images, often used on social media. The problem is that the vast majority of AI applications still don't know how to correctly create national emblems. Today was an example of this. This morning at 8:00 AM CET, the Spanish Ministry of Defense posted this message on Twitter (an automated copy can be seen here):
We can see here the surreal Spanish flag that appears in the message:
The National Coat of Arms is poorly made and its proportions and the space it occupies on the flag are also incorrect. In 2020, I already explained here the guidelines that national symbols should follow. Specifically, the official model of the Coat of Arms of Spain is established by Royal Decree 2964/1981. The appearance of the Flag of Spain with the coat of arms is as follows:

It's shocking that a ministry would take national symbols lightly on one of its communication channels, publishing an image in which the coat of arms looks more like a parody of the Spanish coat of arms. If they don't have anyone to create a proper design for them, the only option is to purchase images (they are available online). Using an AI in this way will be cheaper, but it's unacceptable for a ministry.
