More than 850 groups against antisemitism accuse Sánchez of “incitement to genocide”

The antisemitic drift of Spain's leftist government and its inflammatory slander against Israel are drawing harsh criticism.

Sánchez's words regretting not having “nuclear bombs” to use against Israel

This Thursday, the Combat Antisemitism Movement (CAM), a coalition that brings together more than 850 interfaith organizations from different countries that fight for the eradication of the different forms of hatred towards Jews, issued a statement with this title: "CAM Calls for Spanish PM Sánchez to Be Investigated for Incitement to Genocide Over Apparent Nuclear Threat to Israel."

The CAM announcement is related to the incendiary statement made by Sánchez on Monday, September 8, regretting not having "nuclear bombs" to use against Israel: "Spain, as you know, does not have nuclear bombs, nor does it have aircraft carriers or large oil reserves, we alone cannot stop the Israeli offensive, but that does not mean that we will not stop trying", said the socialist leader at a press conference at the presidential palace of La Moncloa, in Madrid. “Prime Minister Sánchez needs to immediately take back these murderous words”

Sacha Roytman, CAM’s executive director, said: "These disgusting and inflammatory comments have violently ripped off the mask of Prime Minister Sánchez, who claims to be acting on behalf of humanitarian intentions, when his secret desire appears to be militarily attacking Israel, even with the use of weapons of mass destruction", Roytman added: "PM Sanchez now joins an unenviable club of those who have wistfully aspired to use nuclear weapons against Israel, which includes Palestinian Authority senior official Jibril Rajoub who said that ‘if we had nuclear weapons, we’d be using them’ and a former Iranian president who said ‘Israel is a one-bomb country.'"

The CAM director points out that Sánchez's comments "are nothing short of an aspiration to genocide and will be used as a dog-whistle to extremists around the region who dream of the absolute destruction of Israel, using any means possible." The CAM director also stated: "Prime Minister Sánchez needs to immediately take back these murderous words, apologize unreservedly and pray that his words will not inspire further bloodshed, or international legal authorities should explore charging him with incitement to genocide."

Netanyahu accuses Sánchez of issuing a “blatant genocidal threat”

Along the same lines as CAM, this Thursday the Prime Minister of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu, accused Sánchez of launching "a blatant genocidal threat on the world’s only Jewish State", in reference to the statements made on Monday by the President of the Spanish Government, who heads a coalition of socialists and communists. Curiously, Netanyahu's reproach has had more echo in the Spanish media than this very serious statement by Sánchez.

The cynicism of the Sánchez government after its slander against Israel

The Sánchez government has described Netanyahu's comments as "false and slanderous," a description that is laden with cynicism, considering that Sánchez has repeatedly slandered Israel by falsely accusing it of committing "genocide" in Gaza, a lie for which the leftist government of Spain received applause from Hamas terrorists, who are pleased by the political favors that Sánchez is doing for them.
