This deployment, which will run until October 24 and is part of the Unitad 2025 multinational exercise, organized by the United States Marine Corps (USMC), is centered at the Marines base at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, where two weeks ago the Spanish landing on Onslow Beach, which we already saw here, took place.

Spain has sent 350 Marines from the Second Landing Battalion of the Tercio de Armada (TEAR) to this exercise, as part of a deployment of 1,230 Spanish soldiers. As we saw here, TEAR soldiers have trained in operations with US Marine MV-22B Osprey aircraft, but also with the Spanish helicopters that accompany the GCE Dédalo.

This Wednesday, the USMC released a series of photos of a helicopter assault carried out at Camp Lejeune by TEAR soldiers with the two SH-60F Seahawks of the 5th Aircraft Flotilla Squadron (FLOAN) that are embarked on the amphibious assault ship "Galicia" L-51 on this deployment.

This assault exercise took place in the Albatrossas area of the aforementioned USMC base on Monday, September 22. The TEAR soldiers descended from the helicopter using a technique known in the military as fast rope, which allows soldiers already equipped to disembark without having to land the helicopter.

The SH-60Fs of the 5th Squadron are used by the Spanish Navy for various missions, which include tactical troop transport, special techniques (the "fast rope" that we see in these images, manual opening parachute jump, low-altitude jump in aquatic environment and precision shooting), casualty evacuation (CASEVAC), stabilized medical evacuation (MEDEVAC), maritime surveillance and SAR (search and rescue).

For troop transport missions, the SH-60F can carry up to 10 soldiers, in addition to the three aviators who are part of the helicopter's crew. You can see some more photos of this exercise here, in which the Spanish Navy collaborated with USMC personnel.
