The Catholic funerals that will be held for the victims of the Adamuz accident

Yesterday, the bodies of the last people who were missing in the tragic Adamuz train accident were found.

In the last few hours, several dioceses of the Catholic Church have announced funeral masses for the victims. It should be noted that Spain is a predominantly Catholic country and many of the deceased were members of this faith. Below are the funerals that have already been announced:

• ADAMUZ: Sunday, January 25th at 11:00 AM at the Caseta Municipal (14430 Adamuz), which initially served as a reception point for the injured after the accident. The Mass will be presided over by the Bishop of Córdoba, Jesús Fernández, and will be broadcast by Canal Sur Televisión (you can watch it on YouTube, on channel 151 of Movistar Plus, and other platforms). • CADIZ: Tuesday, January 27 at 8:00 p.m. in the Cathedral (Plaza de la Catedral, s/n). The Mass will be presided over by the Apostolic Administrator, Ramón Valdivia Jiménez. During the service, a special remembrance will be given for all the people and professionals involved in the rescue, care, and relief efforts, recognizing their dedication, generosity, and service in the face of this tragic event. • GRANADA: Friday, January 23 at 7:30 p.m. in the Cathedral (Plaza de las Pasiegas). The Mass is scheduled to be presided over by the Archbishop of Granada, José María Gil Tamayo. More information on the Archdiocese of Granada website. Location here.
• HUELVA: Thursday, January 29th at 6:00 PM at the "Carolina Marín" Sports Palace (Avenida de las Fuerzas Armadas, s/n). As various media outlets have reported in recent hours, several of those killed in this accident came from this province, specifically from Punta Umbría, Isla Cristina, Gibraleón, and Lepe. The mass will be presided over by the Bishop of Huelva, Santiago Gómez Sierra, and concelebrated by Luis Javier Argüello García, President of the Spanish Episcopal Conference. • SEVILLE: Wednesday, January 28 at 8:00 p.m. in the Cathedral (Aveuda de la Constitución, s/n). This Mass will be celebrated in memory of the victims of the train accident in Adamuz and Gélida (the train driver who died in the train accident in that Catalan town was from Seville).
