The main events of Spain's Armed Forces Day continue in the city of Vigo, this time near its beaches.

Today, the Spanish Navy and the Maritime Service of the Civil Guard organized a naval review, which was presided over by His Majesty the King from the maritime action vessel (BAM) "Audaz" P-45. The naval review featured seven ships, including the flagship of the Spanish Navy, the aircraft carrier "Juan Carlos I" L-61.

After the naval review, there was a dynamic display by the Armed Forces, the Military Emergency Unit (UME), and the Civil Guard. I took almost 1,700 photos of this event and will be posting some of them little by little, as it was all truly spectacular.

Today I want to start with one of the most thunderous displays of the afternoon: two EAV-8B+ Harrier II fighters from the 9th Squadron of the Spanish Navy took off from L-61 and made a couple of passes near the beach. It wasn't easy to photograph them because they were going very fast, but I managed to take the pictures you see in this article.

One of the planes hovered so close to the beach that it splashed us with water, as its propulsion jets created a curtain of spray in front of Samil beach. The noise was deafening. It was truly amazing. You can see the video here:
