A lullaby to celebrate paternity, banned for being 'too political'

A tender ad of Father’s Day, censored by the political correctness on Australian TV

Every first Sunday in September Australia celebrates Father's Day. But this year the absurd political correctness seems determined to prevent this popular family celebration.

An innocent and emotional announcement to celebrate the fatherhood

Every year on this date, the Australian NGO Dads4Kids launches a television advertisement to recognize the role of the father in society. This year, as usual, they had in mind to launch a commercial and they produced one titled "Our children, our future", in which the thread is a beautiful lullaby that a father sings to his baby. We are going through various moments of life in which fathers are present in the lives of their children. I show you the longest and most complete version (you can see the others in the YouTube channel of Dads4Kids):

Is singing a lullaby for Father's Day a 'political process'?

As it seems incredible, and according to The Sidney Morning Herald, FreeTV Australia, the federation of Australian commercial television, has vetoed the ad for being "too political", despite the fact that the commercial does not speak a second of politics. According to Free TV, the ad appears to "comment, encourage participation or attempt to influence a certain outcome within a political process." But is Father's Day a "political process"?

The LGTB collective has put the NGO in its sights

It seems that the ban has to do with the postal survey conducted by the Australian Government for the possible legalization of marriage between people of the same sex. The survey will run from the present month of September until November and is not binding. In fact, according to News.com.au, a website of the LGTB group has accused Dads4Kids of having a different opinion from its own, as if this were a crime and prevented the NGO from developing any other work that has no relation with a political debate.

"We can no longer celebrate Father's Day," the Australian NGO laments

Before this censorship, Dads4Kids has published a note on its website that says its commercials, which have been broadcasting for 15 years, "are simply a gentle encouragement to Australian dads, and an affirmation that they are an important figure in the lives of their children." The NGO remembers that the ads "have been enthusiastically accepted and many TV stations play them all year long as a community service." Dads4Kids adds: "we can no longer celebrate Fathers' Day without being forced to look at it through the lens of the same-sex marriage debate. It's a tragedy that a political motive is now implied in any mention of fatherhood. The organization also wonders what they see as political in the ads: "They feature a father singing a lullaby to his baby. It is that simple."
