In the same place there is an old Ferret armored car of the British Army

An old Royal Navy Lynx HMA8 on an abandoned paintball field in Scotland

Sometimes I wonder if those who build an aircraft can imagine the picturesque places where it can end its days.

Cornwall: an airfield with old Harrier fighters and other derelict aircraft
A desert in which three strategic bombers from the Cold War are abandoned

An example of this is what can be seen in this video, recorded in an abandoned paintball field in Glasgow (Scotland). The great attraction of the site was a Westland Lynx HMA8 helicopter of the British Royal Navy. Thanks to its numeral, XZ690, I have found information about this aircraft at helis.com. It was delivered to the Fleet Air Arm on May 30, 1979, originally a Lynx HAS2 and with the construction number 113.

In 1992 it was upgraded to the HAS3 version and in 1997 to the HMA8, a naval attack version with the radar installed in the lower part of the nose and a FLIR sight in the upper part. His last registration with the Royal Navy is from 2008, and in October 2017 he appeared in this paintball field. The Youtube channel Exploring with Alec posted a video of that location, showing the helicopter:

You can see some screenshots of the video here. The paintball field is quite large, and among other attractions it has a double-decker bus.

Next to the bus they also abandoned the driver...

A zombie warning. Maybe this explains why the paintball field is abandoned.

The place has its own wooden castle, very well done.

Does anyone know if there are a couple of moai missing on Easter Island?

In the paintball field there is also an old armored Ferret from the British Army. These vehicles were withdrawn from service in 1991.

Crown jewel. The Lynx is in a relatively intact condition on the outside. Its FLIR scope has been retired.

The tail of the helicopter, sporting its numeral: XZ690.

The starboard side.

The interior of the Lynx looks bleak...
