Many media outlets have spread the hoax of the Palestinian terrorist group

An Islamic Jihad rocket hits a hospital in Gaza and Hamas blames Israel

Many media outlets seem to have assumed that a terrorist group like Hamas is a reliable source of information.

Many media outlets published the Hamas hoax without verifying it

We are faced with the apparent journalistic belief that Hamas is capable of murdering, torturing, and kidnapping defenseless civilians, including children, but it is not capable of lying to cover up these crimes. This afternoon we have seen a new example of this disinformation from the Palestinian terrorist group that is redisseminated by Western media without any verification, days after some of those same media described the murders of children by Hamas as a "hoax", crimes officially denounced by Israel.

This afternoon, media outlets such as BBC, El País, Abc, El Periódico, La Vanguardia, the HuffPost and SER have spread a information claiming that Israel bombed a hospital in Gaza killing 500 people. The building attacked would be the Al-Ahli Baptist Hospital, a Christian center. All the media cited point to the Gaza "Ministry of Health", controlled by Hamas, as the source of the information. A source that lacks credibility.

Israel says the rocket was launched by Islamic Jihad

Tonight at 22:00 CET, the Israel Defense Forces have published the following statement:

"Following an analysis by the IDF's operational systems, a barrage of rockets was launched toward Israel, which passed in the vicinity of the hospital, when it was hit. According to intelligence information from a number of sources we have, Islamic Jihad terrorist organization is responsible for the failed rocket launch that hit the hospital."

It wouldn't be the first time something like this happens. Let us remember that in its attacks against Israel in 2011, more than 400 Hamas rockets fell and exploded in Gaza, killing 20 people, according to the Defense Forces From Israel.

Other sources support the Israeli Defense Forces statement

It is not the only source that supports that version. Gaza Report has noted: "An impact at the Al Ahly Hospital, center Gaza City is being checked by some reports as a premature rocket detonation from a nearby launching site." Ten minutes later, this source added: "Reports continue to surface that a misifired rocket detonated a stockpile of munitions held on the hospital grounds." The latest report published by this medium indicates the following:

"At the time of writing there are no indication or reports of mass casualties arriving at the other collection points at Dar Al Shifa, Rajour, the Jordanian field hospital, or the Indonesian hospital in the northern governorate from al ahly."

Likewise, Israel War Room has noted: "One minute before the Baptist Hospital in Gaza was hit, Hamas announced on its own Telegram channel that they were launching their strongest rockets at the northern Israeli city of Haifa. However, no interceptions or impacts were detected near Haifa."

Al Jazeera broadcast images of the failed Palestinian rocket

On the other hand, at 22:06 CET, Israeli journalist Emily Schrader published this video from Al Jazeera, a media outlet based in Qatar (whose regime supports Hamas), noting the following: "Al Jazeera TV broadcasted live the launch of the rocket by Islamic Jihad which hit a hospital and killed 300+ Palestinians."

Will the media that published the Hamas hoax have the decency to rectify it? Or will they continue to spread this hoax, which serves to fuel the criminal campaign of Palestinian terrorism?

+ UPDATED 11:57 p.m.: GeoConfirmed has published an investigation of the rocket that hit the hospital, indicating the locations and evidence that have been disseminated in several videos, and points out this conclusion: "A missile launched by Palestinian Groups exploded mid-air and one of the pieces fell on the Al-Ahli Arab Hospital's yard."
