The government has sent National Police officers with riot gear

A crowd protests in Ferraz, Madrid, against the amnesty shouting 'Pedro Sánchez to prison'

The attack by the socialists on the rule of law in Spain has today a spontaneous response in the streets of Madrid.

More than 1,300 judges in Spain denounce that Sánchez's amnesty means “blowing up the rule of law”
The devastating writing of eight members of the Judiciary denouncing that the amnesty implies “the abolition of the rule of law”

In the last few hours, a call for protest was spread on social networks for this Friday at 7:00 p.m. in front of the national headquarters of the Socialist Party (PSOE). Already before that time, the National Police, by order of the government, blocked Ferraz Street to prevent people from approaching the PSOE headquarters (photo: @lannaviv21).

Hundreds of protesters have been gathering in front of the fences placed by the Police. The protesters have chanted cries of "Puigdemont to prison", in reference to the ringleader of the 2017 separatist coup who is now negotiating his impunity with the government, and also cries of "Pedro Sánchez to prison", as shown listen to this video by @vitoquiles.

A banner with the slogan "Pedro Sánchez to prison" was also displayed at the demonstration (photo via @LevanteEsp).

Unlike what happened with other demonstrations called by the left, the government has sent the Police Intervention Unit (UIP) with anti-riot material. The agents of this unit of the National Police have formed a cordon in front of the protesters, on the other side of the fences, with their helmets on (photo: @lannaviv21).

In front of the police cordon, the demonstration continued between Flags of Spain and Catalonia (photo via @LevanteEsp).

An attendee at the demonstration has indicated that the Police have requested the identity document to protesters. Something curious while the government negotiates with its separatist allies an amnesty for those prosecuted for terrorism.

As we see in this other photo by @lannaviv21, the Police have displayed shotguns prepared to fire rubber balls, despite it being a peaceful demonstration.

At the time of writing the demonstration continues. There will be further updates to this entry if any developments occur.

UPDATED 9:35 p.m.: The demonstration continues two and a half hours later. Here we can see a video by Vito Quiles that shows the deployment of police vehicles in front of the PSOE headquarters to prevent the protesters from approaching.

UPDATED 9:53 p.m.: The demonstration has already concluded, without incident.
