There is one thing that has been drawing my attention from certain Spanish media and journalists for some time now.
These media and journalists end all criticism of Vox to the Popular Party (criticisms that are right for the things that Feijóo’s party does and its pacts with the PSOE) singling out Vox for criticizing the PP, nothing more. They do not comment on whether the criticisms are justified (which they are), but rather are scandalized that one party criticizes another, which is normal in a democracy. They do this, by the way, while ignoring all criticism of Vox from the PP, to make it seem that Vox is messing with the PP without the PP ever having messed with Vox.
I wonder what idea these media have of democracy, as if political pluralism had a black hole that prevents Vox from criticizing the PP, being as they are two different political parties, which defend different things (the things that the PP defends are increasingly difficult to distinguish from the things that the left defends, by the way).
When someone gets involved in politics, he or she must assume that his or her ideas and actions may be subject to criticism. That is what public debate is all about in a democracy like ours. Anyone who does not want to be criticized should instead devote themselves to something else, such as studying the genetics of mussels or analyzing the color of water in a stream in the Amazon rainforest.
Many Spaniards who voted for Vox understand that the PP is part of the problem that Spain has, that our country would not have reached its current dire situation if it were not for the PP's desire to make pacts with the left and give in to socialist ideological dogmas on issues such as abortion, mass immigration, climate alarmism, gender ideology, etc., acting like just another socialist party.
What I expect from Vox, as a voter of that party, is that it defends its principles in the public debate, and that implies pointing out the scam that the PP has been committing with its voters for many years, asking for right-wing votes to implement left-wing policies. If the media and journalists close to the PP are bothered by this, let them put up with it. Vox's duty is to serve Spain and represent Vox voters, and not to please the PP or any media or journalist close to the PP.
