The paradox by which no country knows exactly how long its coasts and borders measure

It is not easy to determine the length of the coastline of the Kingdom of Norway due to the coastline paradox I told you about here. It all depends on the sections used to measure it. This explains why Norway has 25,148 km of coastline according to theCIA World Factbook and 53,199 kilometers according to theWorld Resources Institute.

What is indisputable is that Norway's fjords are home to spectacular landscapes, which are a magnet for tourists, especially in spring and summer, since this Nordic country has very long and harsh winters due to its proximity to the Arctic Circle. This Friday, the YouTube channel Amazing Places on Our Planet has published a peaceful video in which it travels along the coast of Norway for 35 minutes, accompanied by music by Dan Caine. The video includes some images of the most spectacular sites in the country:

You can see some screenshots from this video here, as a preview of the many interesting things you can see in it. We start with Romsdalseggen Ridge, one of the most famous mountain routes in Norway, with a gradient of 960 metres. The part we see here is, specifically, the exit of the Rauma River into the Romsdal Fjord or Romsdalsfjord.

Dozens of tourists on the rock of Preikestolen, a word in Nynorsk (one of the two languages of Norway) that means "the pulpit". It is in the Lyse fjord (or Lysefjord) and has a drop of 604 meters. I wouldn't dream of going near the edge...

The impressive Kjerag plateau, also in the Lysefjord. Located in the municipality of Sandnes, it has one of the highest waterfalls in Norway and the world, with a drop of 715 metres.

The incredible cliff of Trolltunga ('troll's tongue' in Nynorsk), an image that is real even if it seems to be the work of an artificial intelligence program. It is 1,100 meters above sea level in the municipality of Ullensvang. There are people who take excessive risks to take photos at this site: in 2015 an Australian university student died after falling from this cliff, after losing her balance while taking a photo. She died instantly after a fall of 700 meters. Please, if you go to this place, do not do stupid things.
