Ten purposes for the cause of Spain, the West, life and freedom in 2025

One year ends and another begins. It's time to make plans and Contando Estrelas also has them for the new year 2025.

This blog is very predictable. I have been publishing it for 20 years and in all this time I have repeatedly stated the principles that encourage me to write here every day. So what you are about to read will not take you by surprise. These will be some of Counting Stars for the next 12 months:

1. The defense of the cause of life against crimes such as abortion and euthanasia, whose social acceptance is one of the greatest shames of our time. A defense without concessions or half measures. As I have said many times, I am an abolitionist.
2. The defense of national unity, democracy, freedom, human dignity and the rule of law in Spain, seriously threatened by the most sectarian, authoritarian and corrupt government in our democratic history.
3. The defense of religious freedom, and in particular of Christians and Jews who are suffering persecution in more and more countries, amid a wave of Christianophobia and anti-Semitism that unfortunately increasingly affects the West.
4. The defense of the cause of freedom against the attacks it receives in different areas. This cause includes freedom of education, religious freedom, ideological freedom, linguistic freedom, freedom of information, freedom of expression and economic freedom, which are increasingly threatened by leftist fanaticism, gender ideology, political correctness and, in addition, by the separatist movements that we suffer in Spain.
5. The denunciation of the abuse of power by rulers, whatever their party or ideology, both nationally and internationally, with a special focus on my country, Spain, and on the European Union, which has abandoned its founding path to become a mega-state that is increasingly suffocating for freedoms and national sovereignty.
6. The defence of the Ukrainian cause against the Russian invasion, with a view to the liberation of all territories occupied by Vladimir Putin's dictatorship. The Ukrainian people have been demonstrating admirable patriotism and heroism for almost three years, facing a Russian imperialism that has become a serious threat to peace in Europe.
7. The defense of the State of Israel, the only real democracy in the Middle East, which has been fighting for its survival in the face of the attacks it has been receiving since its founding, and which has been defending itself against Islamist terrorism on different fronts since the attack perpetrated by Hamas on October 7, 2023, which led to the greatest massacre suffered by the Jewish people since the Holocaust.
8. The denunciation and criticism of totalitarianism, especially that which still enjoys great power today, communism, an anti-democratic and criminal movement that during the last century has killed millions of people and has plunged entire countries into oppression and misery, and also Islamic extremism, which is one of the greatest threats to our security and to Western civilization.
9. The defense of Christian values ​​and the approaches of liberal-conservatism and the support of political and social initiatives that coincide in this defense, from the strictest independence of Counting Star.
10. The defense of a nation that I admire, Poland, whose current government is following the same path as the Spanish government in its attacks on the rule of law. From Contando Estrelas I will continue to vindicate the history and culture of Poland, a country that during the last century has been a reference for those of us who reject totalitarianism and for those of us who defend the Christian roots of Europe.
