With 1.6 million inhabitants, Budapest is one of the most populated cities in Central Europe, and also one of the most beautiful.
As a result, both Buda Castle and the nearby banks of the Danube were declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1987. One of the most spectacular buildings in Hungary's capital is its Parliament, built between 1884 and 1902 (during the time of the Austro-Hungarian Empire) in a neo-Gothic style, following the design of the Hungarian architect Imre Steindl. Other notable buildings include St. Stephen's Basilica, which belongs to the Catholic Church and was built between 1851 and 1905, and St. Matthias Church, built in the 13th century and restored in the 19th century, which is notable for its high south tower.
A few months ago, Joshua Turner had the opportunity to film some spectacular shots of this city with an FPV drone for two days. The result is a dizzying video that shows us Budapest in a way few people have had the chance to see it:
You can see some screenshots from this video here. We start with the formidable and enormous building of the Hungarian Parliament, with the Danube River to its left. The dome of the building is 96 metres high.
Next we see St. Stephen's Basilica, with its two towers and its large Renaissance-style dome.
A top view of St. Matthias Church, with its large south tower to the left.
Finally, an image of the beautiful Fisherman's Bastion (Halászbástya, in Hungarian), located next to St. Matthias Church and built between 1895 and 1902, with seven towers representing the seven Magyar tribes.
