Tel Aviv has a remarkable history that demonstrates the strength of the Israeli people and their ability to bring life and wealth out of the sand.

The present-day city of Tel Aviv was founded in 1906 in a desert area near the ancient Jewish city of Jaffa. The new city grew very rapidly and finally in 1950, two years after the creation of the State of Israel, Tel Aviv and Jaffa were united to form a single municipality, Tel Aviv-Jaffa. Today, Tel Aviv, as it is commonly known, is the second most populous city in Israel, with 485,500 (the first is Jerusalem, with 985,000).

Tel Aviv is a coastal city with quiet streets, beautiful gardens, and lovely beaches, making it a major tourist destination in Israel. It is also an important business district and has a large Bauhaus-style neighborhood, the White City, built by German Jews who emigrated to the then British Mandate of Palestine in the 1930s: since 2003, this part of the city has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site, as it is "an outstanding example of early 20th-century new town planning and architecture." A few days ago, Israeli YouTuber Relaxing Walker released a video of himself taking a pleasant one-hour evening stroll through the streets of the city:

You can see some screenshots from this video here. What we see could be mistaken for any European Mediterranean city, with pleasant boulevards and gardens for strolling, quiet pedestrian streets, entertainment venues, and terraces. The video was recorded recently, with highs of around 30°C and lows of around 26°C.
