RTVE and TV3 are by far the television channels that consume the most money

Spain already wastes more than 2 billion euros a year on public television channels

Our taxes are used for "healthcare and education." This is how some justify the high tax burden in Spain.

How many ALS patients' lives does the Sánchez government's propaganda cost?
Sánchez wants to squander on languages three times what he refused to give to ALS patients

However, there are many expenditures of public funds that are difficult to justify. One of them is the enormous waste on public television: they already cost more than 2 billion euros annually, according to Rubén Arranz in El Independiente today. That amount includes the public entity RTVE, controlled by the central government, and the channels controlled by the regional governments.

Arranz points out that of this astronomical figure, more than half (1.06 billion euros) goes to salaries. The data on the staff of these public television stations are very surprising. The most expensive, RTVE, spends 490.8 million on salaries for a staff of 6,770 people. The second place on this podium of waste is held by the public television station of Catalonia TV3, with 207.9 million euros in salaries for a staff of 2,487 people. In third place is the Basque television station ETB, with 80.7 million in salaries for 1,179 employees. Significantly, these are three of the public television stations most criticized for their political sectarianism.

This waste is not only attributable to the left and separatist parties, which control the aforementioned channels. Andalusian television, RTVA (Canal Sur, controlled by the PP), is the fourth largest spender on salaries: 78.5 million euros, and the fourth with the largest workforce: 1,172 employees. On the other hand, the fifth largest spender on salaries is Galician Television (CRTVG, also controlled by the PP), with 54.7 million euros in salaries for a staff of 865.

The most astonishing thing is that while public administrations fry Spaniards with taxes to spend the money on these television stations, which exercise unfair competition with private television stations (since the losses of public TV stations are paid for by taxpayers), then they tell us that there is no money so that ALS patients can have a decent life and not be forced to ask for euthanasia, to give a bleeding example of the really important things that the State neglects because it is too busy wasting our money on public television, that is, on propaganda at the service of politicians.
