A film about the launch of Apollo 11 and a very atypical road movie

A few notes on 'Fly Me to the Moon' and 'A Big Bold Beautiful Journey'

I usually post reviews of movies here, but today I'm going to review two movies I had the chance to see this week.

'Weapons,' a disconcerting mystery horror film directed by Zach Cregger
'The Fantastic Four: First Steps,' a sign that Disney has switched sides?

"Fly me to the Moon" was released in 2024. It is an Apple production, directed by Greg Berlanti, and it was a huge box office failure: it cost 100 million dollars and only managed to raise 41 million. It stars Scarlett Johansson and Channing Tatum and revolves around the Apollo 11 mission, which landed man on the moon in July 1969. I saw it advertised a while ago at the cinema and the ad made a very good impression on me, but in the end I didn't get around to watching it. It is now available on Movistar Plus.

The film (basically a romantic comedy set against a NASA backdrop) has a fabulous setting. I loved everything about the space program. I found it very entertaining, and I don't understand how it could have flopped, except for the fact that Apple went overboard with the budget... I highly recommend it, especially if you're a fan of space exploration and P-51 Mustang fighters. You can watch the trailer here:

Also, This week sees the release of "A Big Bold Beautiful Journey". It's directed by Korean-born American filmmaker Park Joong Eun "Kogonada." The stars are Colin Farrell and Margot Robbie. This film is a very atypical "road movie", with magical touches, some romantic comedy, and some drama. One detail I particularly liked is that they thought of headlight geeks (I'm one of them).

It must be said that this is a film that breaks away from the mainstream. It's been a long time since I've seen a film like this, with such an artistic and unusual feel. But above all, it's been years since I've seen such an original story. At times, the film gets a bit slow, but I liked it. If you're going to see it, I'm warning you that this is not a film for teddy bears. Here's the trailer:
