A few days ago we saw here the Spanish Army's rail convoy from Greece to Romania to take part in these maneuvers, a convoy made up of personnel from the Spanish Legion and other units. Today the Spanish Army has published a video showing another convoy, in this case from the "Almogávares" VI Parachute Brigade (BRIPAC), with images recorded at the Príncipe Base in Paracuellos de Jarama:

Yesterday, the Spanish Army announced that this exercise, the most important held annually by NATO, will take place in Germany between February 12 and 25: "The deployment of units to the exercise area involves a national deployment to the embarkation ports - Cartagena (Murcia) and Santander - and a strategic deployment combining air, land, and sea transport, both civilian and military, including the Army's Logistics Transport Ship "Ysabel". This phase is scheduled to last until February 5."

The Spanish Army is deploying several units from its "San Marcial" Division in this exercise. The Parachute Brigade (BRIPAC) is contributing an infantry battalion, a "Mistral" anti-aircraft artillery battery, a field artillery battery, a sapper company, and a logistics support unit. In addition to BRIPAC, the exercise also includes the participation of the Special Operations Command (MOE, with elements from its Headquarters, a communications unit, a Special Operations Ground Group, and a logistics support unit) and the Airmobile Forces (FAMET), with four transport helicopters: two NH90 Sarrio and two AS-532 Cougar.

"Once in Germany, the units will begin their reception, concentration, and forward movement phase. They will move to the Trauen and Hohne training areas and subsequently reach an integration phase within the different groups," the Spanish Army stated, which on Tuesday published a series of photos of the BRIPAC deployment on its Flickr account. These are the photos you can see in this article. Let's look at some details.

Two images of a member of the Projection Support Group II/1 (GAPRO II/1) of the Army's Transport Group No. 1 (wearing the characteristic green beret of logistics units) inspecting a VAMTAC ST-5 of the Parachute Flag "Roger de Lauria" II/4 (BPAC II/4), the infantry battalion that the BRIPAC contributes to this exercise, before its departure from the Príncipe Base.

Two Gehl SL-6640 SXT skid steer loaders from the 6th Parachute Sappers Battalion are mounted on a flatbed trailer. A member of the unit is seen securing one of the loaders to the trailer with a strap.

A Hidromek HMK 102B backhoe loader from the 6th Parachute Sappers Battalion on a flatbed trailer. Like skid steer loaders, this equipment is key for digging trenches and shelters on training grounds, and is also very useful for clearing snow at this time of year.

A VAMTAC SK-95 light truck of the 6th Parachute Field Artillery Group (GACAPAC). In front of it we see an L-118 Light Gun 105mm.

Two Uro VAMTACs of the Parachute Signal Company (CIATRANSPAC VI), part of the Headquarters Battalion (BCG) of the BRIPAC. On the right, we see a Soria SOTM Station ("Satcom On The Move", for data, voice, and video links on the move) on a VAMTAC S3. On the left, we see an ATQH mobile satellite communications terminal ("At The Quick Halt", for data transmission in X and Ka bands) on a VAMTAC ST-5.

Another image of the CIATRANSPAC VI communications vehicles. First, we see the Soria SOTM Station, followed by the ATQH mobile terminal. Bringing up the rear is a 10-ton Iveco-Pegaso M.250.37WM Specific Tractor Vehicle (VET), a three-axle truck from GACAPAC.
