Two days later, another train accident in Gélida (Barcelona) resulted in the death of a train driver. These accidents brought to light the poor state of the Spanish railway network, after the Minister of Transport, the socialist Óscar Puente, stated that the train in Spain was experiencing its "best moment".

Faced with the data pointing to the government's responsibility for the Adamuz accident, due to mismanagement that led to the deterioration of the railway lines from lack of maintenance, Sánchez tried to distract public attention by attacking social media and threatening blatant censorship against a communication channel used by many Spaniards to complain, among other things, about the poor state of the railway network.

That distraction was unsuccessful. In fact, it only served to further anger many Spaniards, especially younger ones, who are the most active users of social media. Now, Sánchez is using the "no to war" campaign to cover up this railway chaos, directing a wave of criticism at our US allies in their attempt to curb the atrocities of the Iranian dictatorship —criticisms far more numerous than those leveled by Sánchez's government against the massacre of 36,500 Iranians by the Islamist dictatorship, a bloody reprisal against pro-freedom protests that constitutes a clear case of crimes against humanity. Sánchez only dedicated one message on Twitter to that brutal reprisal.

It must be said that, unfortunately, this distraction operation is proving remarkably successful. Just look at how the poor state of the railway network has faded from the spotlight of many media outlets, which are now focused on the confrontation between the Spanish and US governments —a situation that has already led the Iranian regime to congratulate Sánchez for betraying his allies.

Chaos is on the rise, with 15% more incidents in one month

Nevertheless, some media outlets continue to cover the railway issue. A few days ago, El Confidencial revealed that the Spanish railway network is already experiencing 1,079 temporary speed restrictions due to the poor condition of the tracks. Yesterday, the online newspaper El Español reported that these incidents have increased by 15% in one month. Instead of solving the problem, the government seems to have washed its hands of it. It is too busy with its campaign against the United States to try to mobilize left-wing voters.

Likewise, today El Debate draws attention to the government's disregard for the victims of the Adamuz accident, by organizing a brief tribute to these victims without inviting any of them. The event was attended only by politicians, including three vice presidents of the government: the socialists María Jesús Montero and Sara Aagesen, and the communist Yolanda Díaz. It just so happens that in the last few hours it has been learned that the association formed by victims of the Adamuz train accident has called for a demonstration in Huelva on March 20th. I'm sure we won't see anyone from the government at that march.
