Iran launches attack missiles bearing the image of Pedro Sánchez as a thank you

The criticisms by the Spanish Prime Minister of the military intervention against the Iranian dictatorship seem to please Tehran greatly.

At the beginning of this month, the Iranian dictatorship congratulated Pedro Sánchez for vetoing the use of Spanish bases by the United States for any operation related to this attack. The Spanish socialist leader is using his opposition to this intervention as a way to distract attention from his corruption scandals, which have caused his party, the PSOE, to fall in the electoral polls.

Yesterday, the ayatollahs took another, and rather curious, step to show their gratitude to Sánchez. Press TV, a media outlet owned by the Islamic Republic of Iran, released a video of an Iranian ballistic missile launch from an undisclosed location, stating that it was "footage of the 75th wave of missile attacks against US-Israeli assets." This video was shared on Press TV's Twitter and Telegram channels:

The most significant thing about this video is that in the images we see a man sticking a sticker on the missile with the image of Pedro Sánchez:

The image of Sánchez affixed to the missile is taken from a video released on Thursday, March 19, upon his arrival at the European Council meeting in Brussels. That video contained a statement by Sánchez affirming, in English, that the war in Iran is "illegal." It's worth remembering that this war has been used by Sánchez as a pretext to evade his constitutional duty to present the 2026 budget.

The missile bears three phrases. The first, in black Arabic script, reads: "The President of the Spanish Government says this war is illegal, and so are we." The second phrase, in red English, reads: "Of course, this war is not only ilegal, but also inhuman. Thank you, Prime Minister" The third phrase, in black Arabic script, repeats the same sentence as the English text.

Furthermore, yesterday the Iranian news agency Tasnim, based in Tehran, shared this photo of a sticker with Sánchez's image attached to an Iranian missile, along with the text: "Inscriptions on missiles that will soon be launched against the occupied territories," a common tactic in Iranian propaganda against Israel. In addition to this description, Tasnim added a hashtag to its tweet: "Wipe Israel out of existence." In other words, the Iranian regime's propaganda network is using Sánchez's image on a missile to advocate for a new genocide against the Jewish people. So far, the Spanish Prime Minister has not commented on the matter.

This morning at 10:00 CET, the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs published the footage of the Iranian missile bearing Sánchez's image, along with the following text: "Pedro Sánchez - Iran’s mullah regime is thanking you by putting your words on the missiles it fires at civilians in Israel and the Arab world. How does it feel knowing your face & words are on these missiles? Keep in mind that Europe - including Spain - is within range of these missiles."
