Albares said this Friday that 'almost all' of the intruders have left

In a message on his Twitter account, this Friday at 8:30 p.m., the Minister of Foreign Affairs José Manuel Albares stated:

"Almost all those who entered Ceuta have already returned to Morocco. It is not possible to travel from Ceuta and Melilla to the Peninsula without identifying oneself at a police checkpoint. The integrity of the Schengen Area is absolutely guaranteed. Enough of this deliberate confusion."

After 11:00 p.m. on Friday, a local newspaper, El Faro de Ceuta, contradicted Albares:

"There are messages that are better left unsaid because anyone in Ceuta can see they aren't true. The Minister of Foreign Affairs, José Manuel Albares, has emphasized that 'virtually all those who entered Ceuta have already returned to Morocco.'

A message that sounds good in X, but doesn't resonate on the streets of Ceuta. There are still thousands of people in the streets, constantly wandering around the city, and there are also altercations among themselves and with other people.

The security forces are increasing their presence, but they aren't reaching all the areas where violent incidents are occurring. The city has been significantly affected by a situation that exceeded all expectations."

Marlaska said this morning that “almost all of them have already left Ceuta”

Following in Albares' footsteps, this morning, Interior Minister Fernando Grande-Marlaska stated that the illegal immigrants who arrived in Ceuta in this migratory invasion numbered "between 50,000 and 60,000" and added: "almost all of them have already left Ceuta".

Furthermore, Marlaska offered a death toll that was disputed by El Faro de Ceuta: "Although the minister speaks of 67 deaths, this media outlet has confirmed that the figure reaches almost 100." This afternoon, from that same Ceuta newspaper, Carmen Echarri pointed out: "The Spanish Government has tried to sell the idea that 24 hours later the crisis no longer existed, but any tour of Ceuta shows the complete opposite."

Early this afternoon, the president of the autonomous city of Ceuta, Juan Vivas, also contradicted the government: "Ceuta has not achieved normality, we are not in normality", adding that "there are several thousand people who must be returned and there is still an atmosphere marked by unease and concern."

Sánchez has already gone on vacation and recommends his favorite songs

The government's haste to prematurely close this serious situation is explained today by an unusual event considering what is still happening in Ceuta: Sánchez has gone on vacation with his family to the island of Lanzarote, flying there at around 1:30 p.m. in an official Falcon 900 aircraft of the Spanish Air Force. To the astonishment and outrage of many Spaniards, especially those residing in Ceuta, Sánchez began his vacation this morning with a TikTok video recommending the songs he's been listening to most this year. The president of the Government of Spain has not posted a single video on that social network about the serious events that occurred in Ceuta.
