Last weekend, Slovakia hosted the International Military Aviation Days (IMAD) 2026 at Piešťany Airport.
The Spanish Army participated in this event with both a display of ground-based military vehicles and aerial demonstrations. It is worth noting that our Armed Forces have been deployed in Slovakia for some time as part of NATO’s operation to reinforce its eastern flank in the face of the Russian threat.
On display at the static ground exhibition was this Spanish Army Centauro cavalry reconnaissance vehicle, belonging to the "Reyes Católicos" II Light Armored Cavalry Group of the Spanish Legion (Photo: NATO Multinational Battlegroup in Slovakia).
The air displays featured a Spanish Eurocopter EC-665 Tiger attack helicopter, specifically the HA.28-18 (ET-718), from the 1st Attack Helicopter Battalion (BHELA I) of the Spanish Army Airmobile Force (FAMET). Mirosław Szalkowski has published this video of the Spanish Tiger's display at Piešťany:
