Vladimir Putin's dictatorship continues to commit horrendous war crimes in its campaign of terror against the Ukrainian civilian population.
In the last few hours, Russia has perpetrated two massacres of civilians in Ukraine, specifically targeting locations with no military or strategic value. The first of these massacres took place yesterday in Pryluky, in the Chernihiv region. This morning, the State Emergency Service of Ukraine reported that 22 people—including 5 children—were killed and 54 others—including 7 children—were injured in this Russian attack.
Russia carried out this attack by launching a Kh-101 cruise missile at a five-story residential building, which explains the high casualty count. A large part of the building's structure collapsed due to the strike, with families inside. Rescue operations were still underway on Thursday morning. Russia committed this massacre on Vladimir Putin's 74th birthday. This is how the Kremlin celebrates its dictator's anniversary: by murdering unarmed civilians, including children.
The two videos above show rescue operations at the building that was attacked. While Ukraine was still reeling from that initial massacre, Russian invaders perpetrated yet another one, again resulting in numerous casualties.
This morning, Russia dropped a bomb on two minibuses filled with civilians in Kramatorsk, in the Donetsk region. This new war crime has killed 30 people and left 18 others injured.
As can be seen in the images, the two civilian minibuses have been destroyed. Such terrorist attacks against the civilian population have become standard practice for the invaders in Ukraine. In Kramatorsk, Russian forces are unleashing a veritable manhunt against civilians—an act that warrants being classified as genocide, just as has already occurred in other parts of Ukraine.
This afternoon, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced:
"This attack will not go unanswered. Russia is attempting to destroy all life in the Donbas, and the world must react to this. It must respond firmly, just as the Russians deserve for all the death they have caused. Eternal memory to the fallen."
How many more crimes must Russia commit before democratic countries label this as terrorism and genocide? How much more time must pass, and how many more Ukrainians must be killed, before democratic countries finally decide to sever all ties with Vladimir Putin's dictatorship?
