One of the artillery classics of the 20th century is the M101 howitzer, which began production in 1940 and of which more than 10,000 units have been made.
Although it was withdrawn from service in the US many years ago, there are many countries that continue to use it, and it has been used in wars until very recently. Mscope published a few weeks ago an interesting video explaining in detail how it works:
