The Spanish Govt uses a hoax to defend the Attorney General after his indictment

This Wednesday, the corruption scandals surrounding Pedro Sánchez's government were completed with another judicial indictment.

Another scandal in the environment of Pedro Sánchez's government

After the indictment of Pedro Sánchez's wife, the legal case against his brother and the corruption cases that affect the Socialist Party (PSOE) and the government, now The Supreme Court accuses the Attorney General of the State of the crime of revealing secrets, placed in office by Sánchez in yet another example of the socialist colonization of state institutions.

A leak of secrets as part of a political witch hunt

This charge was made unanimously following the leak of emails between the prosecutor of a case and the lawyer of a private individual accused in that case, specifically the boyfriend of Isabel Díaz Ayuso, that is, a rival politician of the PSOE. These emails were allegedly leaked by the Prosecutor's Office to the media, in the midst of a political witch hunt against the partner of the president of the Community of Madrid, following an investigation into an alleged tax crime.

In June the Attorney General himself assumed responsibility for the leak of these emails, despite knowing that said leak was a crime of disclosure of secrets by an authority or public official, classified in Article 417 of the Penal Code. The excuse of the Attorney General, the government and their related media is that these emails had already been published by the media. A very dirty trick that is unmasked by the high court.

The Supreme Court points out that these emails were in the possession of the two accused prosecutors

The Supreme Court note indicates that those emails "were in the possession of the Attorney General of the State and the Provincial Chief Prosecutor, sent by Mr. Salto after 10 pm on March 13, and both had use of them to prepare and agree on the information note" by which this accusation has been made, both by the Attorney General and the Provincial Chief Prosecutor of Madrid, Pilar Rodríguez Fernández. Let us also remember that, as El Debate pointed out, García Ortiz used a private mailbox to receive these emails without leaving a trace, in violation of Instruction 1/2022 on data protection of the Madrid Prosecutor's Office.

The Illustrious Bar Association of Madrid denounced this revelation of secrets

It turns out that this leak of secrets is a more serious crime than the alleged crimes that the Prosecutor's Office attributed to Ayuso's boyfriend. That the Attorney General himself assumed responsibility for this is scandalous and leaves the image and prestige of the Public Prosecutor's Office in tatters, already quite damaged by the actions of García Ortiz, who has been behaving like a simple errand boy for Pedro Sánchez's government. Let us also remember that the Illustrious College of Lawyers of Madrid (ICAM) denounced the Madrid Prosecutor's Office for this revelation of secrets, which described this revelation of secrets as a "violation of the right to a trial with all guarantees", indicating that the ICAM "in the face of this very serious violation can neither remain impassive nor resign itself".

Minister Bolaños resorts to a hoax to defend García Ortiz

As the government and its affiliated media have been doing for months, today the Minister of Justice, the socialist Félix Bolaños, has defended García Ortiz stating: "all he has done has been tell the truth and deny a hoax". Bolaños has asked: "Can telling the truth really be a crime in our country?" What Bolaños is doing is precisely spreading a hoax, since he knows that the Attorney General and the Chief Prosecutor of the province of Madrid are not accused of debunking any hoax: they are accused of revealing secrets of which they were aware.

It should also be remembered that this government hoax is especially serious when it comes from the Minister of Justice, who is also the Chief Notary of the Kingdom. What kind of credibility can a person who is lying like Bolaños has had to hold that position?

This Sunday there will be a protest to demand general elections

What this case shows is that we have a government that believes that anything goes, that considers that the end justifies the means and that tramples on the rule of law, in the belief that having power gives it the right to break the laws. The government's attitude in the midst of these scandals shows the extent to which the Spanish government is in the hands of unscrupulous people capable of anything to hold on to power. In this sense, I join the words written today by Santiago Abascal, president of Vox:

"The government is corrupt to the core. All the more reason for them to cling to power at all costs. They need total power to protect themselves from the action of justice. The government is more dangerous than ever. We have already said it: the worst of Sánchez is yet to come."

Of course, we must not resign ourselves to this situation. We must respond. This Sunday, October 20, a protest is called in Madrid to demand a general election, a call to which Vox has joined. I encourage all of you who have the opportunity to do so to attend.
