A flight of the Frecce Tricolori over Chicago seen from one of their planes
In 2024, the Frecce Tricolori, the Italian Air Force's aerobatic patrol, made a grand tour of North America.
The tour included the participation of this patrol in nine displays in Canada and the United States and sixteen flyovers of cities in both countries. On July 27, the Frecce Tricolori flew over Chicago, Illinois, the third most populous city in the United States. The Italian Air Force has published today a spectacular 360º video of that flight, in which we can see it from the cockpit of one of the Aermacchi MB-339 training aircraft used by this aerobatic patrol:
