I regret having to write this article to inform you of an event that has been happening for the past few hours, related to this blog.
Counting Stars is suffering a massive cyberattack. Initially, it appeared to be a DDoS, with two attacks per day (in the morning and around 9:00 PM CET), but it has finally been confirmed that it is an attack from a network of IPs based in Tehran, the capital of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
From what I have been able to find out, these are IPs from Cipher Operations Doo Beograd, a Serbian company that, among other clients, services the Russian search engine Yandex, among other websites in that country. I began to detect the attack yesterday, and today, the origin has finally been confirmed. As part of this attack, Contando Estrelas has suffered 4,400 hacking attempts in 24 hours. This is not the first time this blog has suffered a cyberattack, but this one is particularly striking due to its origin and nature.
Due to this attack, and as a protective measure, a DDoS barrier has been implemented to protect the blog. When you access any address on www.outono.net, you will see a warning indicating whether you are being verified as a human. Do not be alarmed by this warning; it is a simple security measure.
For my part, I will continue to publish with the same freedom and independence as I have until now, as long as I have the means to do so. I regret any inconvenience this attack and the aforementioned DDoS barrier may cause. We hope this passes soon.

Sometimes I wonder who sent me to get into such trouble, considering the relaxed life I could lead… 🙄 But when I think that I write things that upset a criminal regime (today’s is an example), I realize that editing this blog is worth it.
