The Spanish Socialist Workers' Party (PSOE) is beginning to unravel as a result of its scandals.
The latest and most high-profile of these scandals, that of the "fontanera" Leire Díez, is generating increasingly more internal criticism from socialists dissatisfied with the mafia-style practices their party is supporting to try to put an end to police and judicial investigations into its corruption cases. Today, on Cadena SER, former PSOE deputy and ETA victim Eduardo Madina declared: "There was no Aldama in Zapatero's administration; there was no Leire Díez in Rubalcaba's administration in the PSOE; in all my time with visibility in the party, I never saw this happen."
The barely concealed criticism of Pedro Sánchez's mandate has not sat well with one of his ministers. The Minister of Transport, Óscar Puente, has insulted Madina in a message published this afternoon in which he states: "The one missing from the quartet of the resentful, who would not win today in the party or an assembly in their town. Not once have we seen you come out to defend your party from the daily harassment of the right."
El que faltaba del cuarteto de los resentidos, que no ganarían hoy en el partido ni una asamblea en su pueblo. Ni una vez se os ha visto salir a defender a vuestro partido del acoso diario de la derecha. https://t.co/6FLRTFlIBI

The minister hasn't limited himself to insulting Madina. Puente has also begun frantically blocking many socialists who have criticized his message. You can see his responses here, which the minister has hidden to make them harder to read. Meanwhile, Puente did allow responses from the socialists who support him.
This is revealing of what's happening within the PSOE. The socialists are no longer attacking the right-wing, as they have been doing savagely for years for a variety of reasons. Now they're attacking each other, while Sánchez has already been refusing to take questions from the media for eleven days about the PSOE's "plumber girl" scandal. The more time passes, the more this party disintegrates due to Sánchez's authoritarian ways.
