The Serranía de Ronda is the westernmost of the nine regions that make up the province of Málaga, in the Spanish region of Andalusia.
The Serranía de Ronda is also the name given to the mountain range located between Málaga and the neighboring province of Cádiz, an area with beautiful natural landscapes, as we have seen so far in the Aventuras Entresierras videos about that area that I have been publishing so far on this blog.
One of the beautiful routes in this region is the path known as the Genal River walkways, located in the municipality of Jubrique (Málaga), at an altitude of 559 metres above sea level and situated in the Genal Valley, which is named after the river that runs through this area, rising in Igualeja and flowing into the Guadiaro River.
This Tuesday, the YouTube channel El inquieto naturaleza (to which I recommend you subscribe) published a video in which its author covers the last section of this trail starting from Benarrabá (Málaga), showing the beautiful places along this route (the video is in Spanish, you can activate the automatic English subtitles in the bottom bar of the player):
You can see some screenshots from this entertaining video here as a preview. Let's start with the beautiful landscapes of the Serranía de Ronda.
The path that runs along the Genal River, providing refreshing shade for walkers on a very hot day.
One of the footbridges that gives this trail its name. They were placed on one side of the river in areas where rising waters made the original path disappear.
Some sections of this trail are truly curious, like this one we see here, where a vault has formed in a reed bed.
