Serious wave of anti-Semitism two years after the Hamas pogrom

October 7: a sick society that swallows the lies of some nazis, once again

Two years ago, evil penetrated the borders of a democratic and free country, leaving behind a trail of horror, blood, and death.

The precedent of the Holocaust perpetrated by the Nazis

I've been a history buff since I was a child. I've always thought that history should teach us not to repeat the mistakes of the past, especially those that have done the most harm to humanity. There's one episode in our recent history that has always impressed me: when a society that believed itself to be advanced was capable of exterminating millions of people, spurred on by antisemitism, by an irrational and unhealthy hatred promoted by a gang of criminals who ended up turning their country into a forest of ruins.

After millions of deaths, after the horror caused by Nazism and Communism, the world should have vaccinated itself against totalitarianism, against those perverse and murderous ideologies that believe that the world's problems can be solved by killing entire masses of human beings, whether because of their race or their social class, or simply because they do not think like totalitarians.

For decades, many have asked themselves: how could the Holocaust happen? How was a society capable of allowing itself to be invaded by evil to the point of allowing and causing something like this? And above all, how can we prevent it from happening again? Remembering that genocide has served to remind us for years that giving in to evil can make a society end up sick, poisoned by that moral plague that sneaks through our doors every time we forget that others are children of God and our brothers and sisters.

The antisemitic Hamas massacre of October 7, 2023

On October 7, 2023, two years ago, the State of Israel fell victim to the largest terrorist attack in its history, a massacre in which Hamas murdered more people in a single day than the terrorist group ETA in all its decades of criminal activity in Spain. It was the largest anti-Semitic massacre since the Holocaust, an event that deeply shocked Israeli society, the victim of an attack perpetrated by fanatics who refuse to accept the existence of the people of Israel in the land of their ancestors. Fanatics who, since the independence of the State of Israel in 1948, have been trying to exterminate the Jews and complete the genocide started by the Nazis.

Such a shock is comparable only to that suffered by the United States with the attacks of September 11, 2001, or that experienced by Spain with the terrorist attacks of March 11, 2004. Proportionately, October 7 was the worst terrorist attack suffered by Western society, taking into account the number of victims and the population of Israel. That attack was an event that should have stirred consciences, but instead, seeing the Jewish people exercising their right to defend themselves and not allowing themselves to be killed gave rise to a purely nauseating reaction on the part of the most fanatical, miserable and morally sick part of our society.

The far-left and Islamism, the nazis of the 21st century

As has happened before, the far-left and Islamists have joined forces to turn the attacked country into the villain of the story, to criminalize Jews for refusing to allow themselves to be tortured, kidnapped, raped, and murdered without responding forcefully to the criminals of Hamas. The West has been swept through the greatest wave of antisemitism since the Third Reich, a wave of hatred against Jews driven by the same people who have spent years accusing all those who do not share their opinions of "hate." Many who call themselves "anti-fascists" have proven to be as antisemitic as the nazis they abhor, from whom they can only be distinguished today by their clothing and symbols. Today's nazis carry Palestinian flags and red stars instead of swastikas, and they are as hateful as the Nazis of 80 years ago.

Gaza is devastated by Hamas and its human shield strategy

As I explained yesterday, the war in the Middle East has left devastated the territory from which the terrorists who attacked Israel two years ago came. If Gaza is in ruins, it is because of Hamas, which started this war with the same purpose that Israel's enemies have started all their wars since 1948: to destroy the Jews. Hamas is as guilty of this destruction as the nazis were guilty of the destruction of Germany, whose people were sacrificed by the dictator Adolf Hitler and his band of Nazi criminals, in the pursuit of a purely diabolical fanaticism comparable to that of the Hamas terrorists.

This level of destruction is not attributable to Israel, whose army has acted with unprecedented precision in the history of urban warfare, as I explained yesterday from this same site. It was Hamas that decided to use Gaza civilians as human shields, thus committing a war crime, hiding arsenals under schools, hospitals and residential buildings. It is Hamas that must be held accountable for the destruction of Gaza.

The false accusation of 'genocide' against Israel, a modern blood libel

The false accusation of "genocide" leveled against Israel by some wretches is a modern version of medieval blood libels, criminal lies used to justify all kinds of atrocities against Jews. Today, this massive blood libel is promoted by the terrorists themselves to shift the blame for their crimes onto their victims. This colossal hoax is as obscene as if an accusation of "genocide" had been leveled against the Allies instead of the Nazis in 1945.

Only a morally sick society can swallow this great lie promoted by the new Nazis, a lie inspired by the same moral plague that inspired the Holocaust: anti-Semitism. In the last two years, we have seen fanatics calling for the destruction of Israel and demanding all kinds of reprisals against that country as if it were guilty of this war, as if the mere fact of existing made the Jewish people guilty. Zionism is the defense of the right of the people of Israel to have their own State, and once again, anti-Zionism has proven to be a crude disguise for anti-Semitism, a discourse that only denies the right to exist to the only Jewish country in the world (a democratic country), turning a blind eye to communist and Islamist dictatorships.

For my part, I am clear: between the State of Israel and the alliance of Islamism and the extreme left, I will stick with Israel, a country created on the remains of the survivors of a genocide, a country that has managed to achieve levels of prosperity and freedom that do not exist in any other country in the region. In the midst of a society sick with anti-Semitism, the decent thing to do is not to give in to that repugnant hatred to obtain the approval of an insane majority, just as it would not be in Germany in 1940. Faced with this anti-Semitic wave, today we must shout even louder:

Am Yisrael Chai!
The people of Israel live!
