The Vigo Estuary is a place where the sun doors are like a work of art, and sometimes they can even surprise you.
On October 12th, we went to Canido beach, in the parish of San Miguel de Oya, in Vigo. The sea was calm, an ideal situation for taking good photos. In this one we see the breakwater of the port of Canido, with its beacon (a place where many people go fishing) and in the background Toralla Island, with its enormous building and the bridge that connects it to Vao beach, a beautiful place on the southern bank of the Vigo Estuary.
As the sea is calm, the sunlight draws a golden trail on the surface of the water, like a yellow brick road leading to the horizon.
I waited for the sun to disappear, watching that yellow brick road get shorter and shorter little by little.
At 7:59 pm, the round face of our star began to distort, offering a curious light spectacle. Here we see it to the right of the Canido outer beacon (05181), which emits green light, and in the background the Boeiro Islet lighthouse, which emits red light (you can see it better by clicking on the photo to enlarge it).
At 8:00 p.m., the sun offered its last light of the day, a faint golden line, and finally hid behind the horizon.
