Some say that Vladimir Putin's dictatorship is a defender of Christian values, but it acts in a purely diabolical way.
Today, on Christmas Day, a date associated with peace in the Christian world, the terrorist regime of Vladimir Putin has launched new attacks against civilian targets with no military or strategic value in Ukraine. This strategy of terror is part of an unprovoked, large-scale invasion that began on February 24, 2022, an invasion in which Russia has been committing all kinds of atrocities, demonstrating its peculiar understanding of Christian values.
In Chernihiv, Russia attacked a five-story residential building with a drone. This afternoon, at 2:41 PM CET, the State Emergency Service of Ukraine reported: "According to preliminary information, an elderly woman died and 5 other people were injured. Emergency services rescued 4 residents and 9 more were evacuated from the building. The building collapsed from the 4th to the 2nd floors. A fire broke out. Firefighting and debris removal efforts are ongoing. All services are working at the scene. Information is being constantly updated."
In Kherson, the Russians attacked a market as people were shopping for Christmas, murdering a 47-year-old worker. Oleksandr Prokudin, Governor of Kherson, stated: "At noon on Christmas Day, Russian terrorists massively bombed the center of Kherson. In broad daylight, the occupiers cynically attacked the market, where people were preparing for the holiday. As a result of the numerous attacks, shops were destroyed. This attack claimed the life of a 47-year-old market worker who was on duty at the time. Our deepest condolences to the family and friends of the deceased."
The West must continue sending military aid to Ukraine to prevent Russia from continuing to murder civilians. We must accept that there will be no peace in Europe as long as there is a terrorist regime in Moscow that believes it has the right to invade neighboring countries and murder defenseless civilians. Ukraine is today the first line of defense of civilization in Europe, and the moral duty of the rest of the European countries is to help the Ukrainian people in their heroic resistance against the invaders. If we do nothing, war could be much closer to us tomorrow.
