Serious threats against journalists at the left-wing feminist march on March 8th in Madrid

Pedro Sánchez's government has spent years launching attacks against the media that investigate its corruption scandals.

These attacks have ended up generating a wave of fanaticism on the left against media outlets that do not support the government. This fanaticism was clearly on display at the left-wing feminist march held today in Madrid on March 8th, International Women's Day. The slogan "no to war" was frequently heard at the march, in rejection of the US and Israeli military operation against the Islamist dictatorship of Iran (one of the most misogynistic governments in the world). A slogan that seems to translate into "yes to war against free journalism," judging by the images seen today.

Journalist Cake Minuesa, from Ok Diario, was threatened by one of the bodyguards of Socialist Minister Óscar López Águeda, while the reporter was covering the event. The bodyguard threatened the journalist with these words: "Get out of there or I'll smash you!" A threat that was captured in this video published by Minuesa himself:

Furthermore, journalist Tate J. Barcelo, from EDA TV, has received death threats at the same march. In this video, a protester can be seen shouting at him, "If I touch you, I'll kill you!" The journalist points out: "We have received death threats and they tried to take our microphone from us, the same people who say no to war." In the video, protesters can also be heard shouting at the journalist, "Dead fascist, fertilizer for my garden!" A scene that highlights the level of fanaticism within the Spanish left.

These threats and acts of harassment clearly demonstrate that Pedro Sánchez's government is creating an environment hostile to critical journalism that increasingly resembles that of Turkey. Perhaps this explains Sánchez's good relationship with the president of that country, who is also a known sympathizer of the terrorist organization Hamas.

Curiously, at 8:30 p.m., the Madrid Press Association published a manifesto for March 8th in which it calls for an end to the harassment of women journalists, but says nothing about the serious threats suffered today by those two journalists at the left-wing feminist march in Madrid.
