During the match, some spectators shouted "Muslim who doesn't jump", an act that has provoked great indignation on the Spanish left, describing these chants as "racist". Yesterday, Pedro Sánchez published a message about what happened, stating: "Yesterday's incident in Cornellà is unacceptable and must not be repeated. We cannot allow an uncivil minority to tarnish the reality of Spain, a pluralistic and tolerant country. The national football team and its fans are no exception."

On January 24, the Jewish cemetery of Les Corts, in Barcelona, ​​suffered a serious antisemitic attack. The attackers vandalized more than 20 graves. The Federation of Jewish Communities of Spain (FCJE) and the Jewish Community of Barcelona (CJB) also denounced that previously "anti-Semites targeted the Jewish school in Barcelona, ​​exposing and endangering hundreds of minors. Businesses and workplaces of Jewish citizens in the city have also been targeted".

The attack on the Jewish cemetery in Les Corts was a very serious event whose repercussions extended far beyond Spain's borders. Israel demanded "immediate measures" from the Spanish government, calling for a firm response from the authorities. The Spanish government's response was very different from the one it adopted for those shouts at the Cornellá football match: Pedro Sánchez did not even publish a brief tweet condemning that anti-Semitic desecration.

In fact, despite this wave of antisemitism denounced by the Jewish community, Sánchez has gone more than two years without publishing any message against antisemitism. His double standard regarding religiously motivated hate speech is even more evident when we look at his messages about Christians: Sánchez has never mentioned Christianophobia in the almost 17 years he has been on Twitter. In fact, his aversion to followers of Christ is such that in that same time he has not published a single mention of Christians.
