The North American P-51 Mustang and the Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress were fellow sufferers on many missions during World War II.

Few of these veteran planes remain in airworthy condition today. Last year they could be seen together at the Wing of the North's AirExpo 2021, in Eden Prairie, Minnesota (USA). Two P-51s, the "Lope's Hope 3rd" and the "Sierra Sue II", escorted the B-17 "Yankee Lady". AirshowStuffVideos today posted footage from that historic flight.
