During this day, acts of homage to the Fallen are held in cemeteries in Spain, corresponding to different religious confessions, and also in Spanish military detachments abroad. You can see here some of the events held today.

Honor demanded it and they obeyed,
The duty required them and they complied with it;
With their blood they signed the company,
With their effort the Homeland was enlarged.

They were big and strong, because they were
Faithful to the oath they pledged.
That's why, how brave they fought,
And as heroes they died.

For the Homeland to die was their destiny,
loving Spain, their eternal passion,
serve in the Armies, their vocation and fate.

They did not want to serve another Flag,
They did not want to walk another way,
They did not know how to live otherwise.
